✨ Teacher Feature: Jonathan Llewellyn✨

We’re so excited to feature the beloved Jon, one of Alberta Dancesport’s incredible instructors and a member of Salsa Rica!🕺

Jonathan Llewellyn began his formal dance journey in 2005, coming from an extensive background in music and martial arts. Since that time, he has grown into a seasoned multi-disciplinary social dancer, competitive performer, instructor, DJ and choreographer.

Joining the Salsa Rica Dance Company in 2011 catalyzed a passion for competitive cabaret showdance, leading to him performing and competing in top international-level events across North America and earning 11 Amateur, then 2 Professional Division World-Level Top 3 showdance titles to date. He additionally received the special opportunity cast as a background dancer for the Hallmark TV series “Ride.”

While continuing his passion in showdance, he believes in maintaining a healthy balance of recreational social dancing for active fun. His mindset as an instructor is to ensure both brand new and experienced dancers alike receive a continuous supply of fresh and accessible content to keep their time on the dance floor both fun and meaningful!

✨ Teacher Feature: Andrew Nguyen ✨

We’re so excited to feature the amazing Andrew Nguyen, one of Alberta Dancesport’s incredible instructors and a beloved member of Salsa Rica!🕺

Andrew is a professional ballroom and Latin dancer from Calgary with 18 years of dance experience. He trained extensively before moving to Montreal, where he spent five years training, competing, and teaching at a high level. Now back in Calgary, Andrew teaches competitively and socially, and is also a member of Salsa Rica. He brings a wealth of performance experience, technical precision, and a passion for dance to the local community, both on and off the floor.

✨ Teacher Feature: Diana Lefebvre ✨

We’re so excited to feature the incredible Diana Lefebvre, one of Alberta Dancesport’s incredible instructors!🕺

Diana Lefebvre is a Calgary-based performance coach, confidence mentor, and retired professional Ballroom dancer—affectionately known as one of Canada’s dancing sweethearts.

With over 30 years in the dance world, she’s worn every hat: pro competitor, national judge, coach, studio owner, and the visionary behind Burlesquercise Canada. In 2024 she won Calgary’s Top Wedding Dance Coach and in 2025 was “white hatted” by the city of Calgary for her contribution to the dance industry.

✨ Teacher Feature: Michael the Dance MatchMaker!✨

We’re so excited to feature the wonderful Michael Williams, one of Alberta Dancesport’s incredible instructors!🕺

Michael has been involved in the social dance community for over 20 years as a teacher, event organizer, and performing artist. Trained in many different styles and disciplines, he specializes in the Argentine Tango and is excited to offer his unique set of skills to students who want to learn more about general social dancing.

“My goal as a dance teacher is to create a fun and friendly learning environment, and to help people connect through the movement.”

His latest project “Dance Matchmaker” is an initiative to promote social dancing, help beginners find dance partners and discover events in their community.

✨ Teacher Feature: Annick Paquet ✨

We’re so excited to feature the incredible Annick Paquet, one of Alberta Dancesport’s incredible instructors! 💃

With over 30 years of dance experience, trained in ballroom, latin, salsa, and country, Annick brings a wealth of knowledge. Whether in the studio, onstage or backstage, Annick loves contributing to the dance community. Annick is a World Country Dance Champion with her husband Doug Davidson and has been a Featured Dancer in the Academy Award winning film Brokeback Mountain and the Amazing Race Canada. She is a Salsa Rica Dance Company Semi-Pro Team Member, Choreographer and Instructor. She is also the Choreographer at Burlesquercise and an Event Manager for the ballroom and salsa community in North America including the Calgary International Salsa, Congress, and Ultimate Latin Dance Championships in Las Vegas.
