This brings our grand total of donations made since February 2018 to $90,105. A huge THANK YOU to all our members for making this possible.

As approved during KIC’s January Executive Meeting, two donations have been made to the Brown Bagging It for Calgary’s Kids and Meals On Wheels for $2,000 each. Note that for the Meals On Wheels, our amount has been matched by another generous contributor.

At the last Executive Meeting August 26th an additional charity donation was approved via the Red Cross for the Jasper Wildfire Relief.

With the donations of this $6,000 our total donations from 2018 have nearly reached $69k. All these donations are possible because of our large membership, our many volunteers and especially to our Performance Team who just finished a 5 day performance gig at Spruce Meadows to help celebrate the MASTERS.

KICLDC’s Executive Committee has now made another donation of $2,000 to the Calgary Counselling Centre in Calgary. KIC has been donating to this worthy cause since 2019. For over 60 years the Counselling Centre has been helping people develop the skills they need to thrive. They diligently advocate for mental health policy in the community with no barriers and no wait list. Due to KIC’s low registration fee and all of our wonderful volunteers, this donation is possible. Since 2018 KIC has now donated $63k to worthy charities in Calgary.

Our KICLDC Executive voted to make donations this month to two worthy charities. The first donation of $1,000 was made to Pawsitive Match Rescue Foundation for dogs and cats in life-threatening situations and to give them a second chance at life. The second donation of $1,000 was to the Alberta Dog Training Program under CNIB Foundation. Guide dogs make it easier for the person who is blind or vision impaired to use public transport, navigate shopping centres and buildings, find doors, seats and pedestrian crossing buttons. Plus they provide companionship and promote social inclusion. Making friends becomes easier when you have a guide dog.

These donations are possible due to our many KIC volunteers, the performances that we do throughout the year and our very low membership fee. Since 2018 our Club has been able to donate $58,912 to Calgary charities. Thanks to our Executive and membership for making all these donations possible.

A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful membership who donated many non-perishable items of food on Wednesday night to the Veterans Association Food Bank Drive. Our volunteer driver Sandra M. delivered all of the items plus some cash ($180) to the VETS yesterday and they were delighted to receive these items.

Our very own Wendy Johansson (Level 3/4 Instructor) is down in Florida and has choreographed another Line Dance and posted on Copperknob. If enough people click on the link (EACH DAY), she can get into the top 100 on the charts!!! And with 11,000 dances posted each year worldwide this is not easy to do. She is more than worthy of this recognition and I know all our KIC family (friends) will do their best to acknowledge all the work she does for our Club. Take a look when you have a sec and feel free to post any feedback if you have any (the good, the bad, and the ugly). Go Wendy Go!😍

Once again, your KICLDC Executive has made a generous donation to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation this past week during Country 105 Radiothon. Our donation of $2k was made during the hour when Enbridge was matching up to $15k so that means our donation doubled. During the last six years, KIC has donated almost $57k to a variety of charities. This is due to our many volunteers and our large membership.

Every Canadian knows that the month of October brings with it the start of some very chilly weather. For this reason the KICLDC Executive voted to make a $1,000 donation this year to both Inn From The Cold and The Mustard Seed. With these two donations, our total rises to +$52k since our first donation back in 2018. Thanks to all of our registered members, Instructors and to the many performances that we do throughout the year that makes these donations possible.
