Hello everyone! Long time, no see. I'm just waking up from hibernation here in the great YT to send y'all a little tribute to a good friend and long time working partner, Tim Williams who played a ton at my club when it was open, did a pile of house concerts before that and presented a handful of classes and workshops for ASYLUMforART.

Besides being a fabulous musician, it was a pleasure to listen to his stories from a prolific career that spanned many decades, countries, languages and styles. To top it all off, he was a pleasure to chat with before and after the gig.

Tim, you will be missed, but as you can see from the 16 concerts, 3 classes and 1 afternoon workshop included in this library (follow link below), you aren't gone. Everyone who saw you play will remember and your teaching has inspired everyone who took your classes. I hope not too soon, but will see you again, friend...

Please enjoy this collection!

Infused with hints of Nina, Ella, & Billie, and peppered with Poole, Czerny, Concone….maybe even Mozart, the cover song portion of the show promises to be whimsical and light of heart! These will be interwoven through a goodly dose of de Bussac’s eclectic original material including her most recent single “Secret Valentine”, and more from her forthcoming album “Liquids”.

Bryson Waind is a folk and country singer who was born and bred in Canada’s Niagara Region. He spent 15 vintages working in the wine industry, running tractors up and down the vineyard rows. Years on the farm gave him the opportunity to develop the genuine Canadian folk and country style that he plays today. On the guitar or mandolin you can hear the deep roots and love of home that are his trademarks. Now living in Calgary, his style remains the same and his songs still ring with the pride of place, but also, with a traveller’s thirst which speaks to the maturity and craftsmanship of his songwriting. Bryson Waind and his songs stand out because of their honesty and loyalty to folk principles. They will gather you in, and take you all the way home.

Icarus III Improvising Trio
ASYLUMforART.ca | 2505 14 St SW | (403) 969-7257

Icarus 3 is an improvising trio composed of Jeremy Gignoux (violin/viola), Keith Rodger (double bass), and Robin Tufts (drums, percussion). They created their original repertoire in an unusual and experimental way: with the help of the clown. Under the guidance of clown performer and educator Jacqueline Russell, they explored their inner clowns which gave birth to musical compositions and improvisation games that display a joyful and wild creative energy.

Their music takes in all of their musical past, from folk, classical, country, jazz, or other influences and exhibits theatrical elements such as character, narrative, and a lot of open improvisation.
