Perhaps the most exciting news of the year for me and my family is that my nephew Evan is getting married to his perfect match Alita! The mountains that they love served as the perfect backdrop for this tiny peek into their beautiful relationship. Congratulations you two!

Winter weddings in Banff are simply pure magic! Throw in a bride and groom with hearts the size of Montana and it just gets that much better. Truly one of the greatest celebrations of love that I have experienced!

Here is the last remaining remnant from the beautiful fall we just witnessed in the mountains this year. Meagan and Graham were the perfect subjects on this pristinely beautiful day. Their happy go lucky style complemented the calmness of the evening wonderfully. I look forward to shooting their wedding in the spring!

I cannot remember riding so many waves of emotion as I did on Kelsey and Julians wedding day. I was sucked right in from the very beginning. The two of them have grown closer through trials in their lives and their wedding day was a pure celebration of how much it means to them to be united. An incredibly supportive cast of family and friends helped to create one of the most intimate weddings that I have been to. I am so grateful to have been a part of this amazing day!

Sammi and AJ must have spread some great karma throughout their lives. They wanted rain for their engagement session, and they got rain. And anyone who plans a wedding in Calgary in February must want some snow. Well Sammi and AJ got just that! The day before it was 10º and sunny. The day of their wedding was a comfortable 5º and snowing. Perfect conditions for those romantic snowy photos. And they deserve a little romance on their wedding day. They are the kind of people who know that to give love is to have it for yourself all the more.

It is no secret that I love the rocky mountains, but on new years eve I had the privilege to experience them through the eyes of someone who has just begun to experience the wonder and the magic of our mountains. Carolina is from Brazil and has just recently moved here and Nathan is from Montana. She had never seen snow before she moved here, he was born and raised with it all around him. Through fate and some prompting by their parents they met and fell madly in love. So after meeting with Carolina to discuss their engagement session it was immediately clear that the only place that would really work is Banff. I enjoyed experiencing the cold and snow with Carolina and Nathan as they enjoyed being in each others arms. While Carolina may have been amazed at the mountains surrounding us, I was in amazement of their love and connection with one another. The romance flowed between them in every moment allowing me to capture pure magic in the mountains.

Some may ask "Why would you ever get married in the winter in Canada?!". Let this wedding be evidence of the beauty that winter brings! Certainly, having a couple like Kassy and Zach makes a winter wedding feel less cold and more fun though. Kassy has the style and grace of a Hollywood Star from the 20's and Zach has the charm to match. Every minute of this wedding was filled with joy and laughter.

Personality oozes out of both Mike and Olivia. Different personalities for sure, but tons of it! They are the kind of people that you meet once and feel like you could be friends with them forever. Photographing their wedding, I felt like a friend. There was no facade's, just real emotion all the time. Their love has a certain element of excitement to it, as though every time they see each other it is like the first time. The air around them felt electric as they walked towards one another for the last time as boyfriend/girlfriend. Love filled their eyes and the rest of the day was overflowing with it.

After spending the perfect fall afternoon with t these two, I cannot wait until their wedding! Both Kelsey and Julian were so easy to photograph. They are very open with their love for one another and it was clear that they enjoy every minute that they get to be together. Plus, they were eager to add their own personality into the photos using some of the things they love like downtown, football, dance and romantic walks! This is what great photos are made from!

There are few things that I enjoy as much as the energy of young children! I hope seeing these 2 brothers with each other brightens your day as much as it brightened mine! Being able to capture kids at play is a perfect opportunity for fine art family photos. The photo of the two of them at the water fountain might be my favourite!
