Looks like a crazy mess but this is me getting things packed up for the trip to Fort McMurray. We’re heading up for the pottery sale on Friday night and Saturday. I’m looking forward to connecting with some familiar faces! Hope to see you at Centerfire Place.

I’ve been playing around with some layering techniques - monoprints, slip designs and transfers. These mugs use photographs that have been made into silkscreen images (in this case family members). It’s a very enjoyable process and a way to personalize any piece of pottery.

It’s finally time to introduce the latest addition to my little ‘flock.’ Meet the iconic redwing blackbird. I’m having a hard time deciding whether to add the luster glaze (the iridescent bird) or just leave him black with a gold beak and eyes.

Orchids require patience - the waiting kind. I have waited 4 years for a couple I bought as babies to bloom (ok, still waiting on them). This is Oncidium Twinkle Fantasy. It was a baby plant gifted to me by a friend one month less than a year ago and just look at it! Its tiny flowers are so beautiful and it seems to be enjoying its ‘peach fuzz’ small orchid pot. It brings me joy every day!
Definitely worth the wait!
