We are SO PROUD of our Cantiga apprentice choristers who joined Cantare and Cantando on-stage to perform on SIXTH SENSE!!

After a year of extra rehearsals, workshops, and performance opportunities with Cantare , these senior Cantiga choristers will now begin the process of moving up into CANTARE!

THIS SATURDAY our senior and young-adult ensembles, Cantare and Cantando, present their 2025-2026 season-closing performance together, and there is SO MUCH to share!

Concluding a busy and thrilling year, Cantare is coming fresh off their performance tour of Medicine Hat and South-East Alberta with Cantiga. They will be performing a selection of works from their overall year music folder, small images of all of the material they have learned in the last season. We are so excited for you to hear all of their incredible growth!

Cantando has been building foundational repertoire together over the past months. Their segment of the concert will feature choral classics by Johannes Brahms, Gabriel Fauré, Eric Whitacre, and former Cantare Composer-In-Residence: Canadian composer John Burge!

We’re so excited to join our voices together; come join us for a warm evening of singing to kick-off Summer!

Tour Blog - DAY FOUR:
After checking out of our rooms and loading up the bus, we had a truly special presentation waiting for our choristers in the hotel rec room: A lesson by Métis cultural educators Aleigha Aaker, April Aaker, and special guest Audra Brown on the Métis history of this region!!

Cantare-aged Aleigha gave a full presentation of artifacts, sage samples, beads, weaved sashes, moccasins and more! Our choristers were blown away by her passion and depth of knowledge. After showing us all of her treasures, she taught us how to dance a traditional jig, what fun to dance together on our last day!

AWARDS NIGHT
We believe that an essential part of our touring experience is taking time at the end of the journey to reflect and honour all of the individuals who contributed to the wonderful experience. During awards night, chaperones present their choristers with their CHORISTER AWARDS which honour their personalities and contributions to the group over the past few days. We are so proud of you all!!
