Yiting’s professional background is Architecture, combining her sensitivity to design and her passion for art and illustration, she began to work as a freelance artist in 2017. Yiting has been commissioned to paint murals for both commercial and private clients. She has also been selected for several public art projects in Alberta.

favourite book continues to remind her to listen and observe with her heart more than to speak, her inspirations draw from paying attention to the simple things in life, nature, listening to people and stories around her. As a visual artist, it is Yiting’s passion to use visual arts to tell a story - revealing the magic of the beautiful ordinary.

Yiting is passionate about seeking for new inspirations and artistic opportunities. Beyond & Within is an immersive visual arts project exploring the intersection of storytelling, personal memories, and imagination. Drawing on my background as a visual artist, muralist, and illustrator, I weave fragments of my own narrative into a cohesive series of paintings and poetry.

Visitors are invited to literally step inside the process of self-discovery. This journey demands that we search ourselves inside out, navigating both the physical and spiritual realms. Yet, the ultimate question "Beyond & Within" asks is one of profound stillness: Standing in the eye of the storm—are we able to find peace amidst the chaos of the world?

Inviting you to Beyond & Within at cSPACE, June 15 to 29.
An immersive art installation made from fragments of personal stories, weaved into paintings and poetry.
Come to experience quiet reflection, connection, and memories.

I will also be having an opening reception on Thursday, June 18th, 5:00 pm-8:00 pm.
Join me for conversation, refreshments, and live piano performance!!!

Have you been to the Renfrew community lately? This cutie is right at the intersection of 6 St NE and 8 Ave NE. It was done 5 years ago, and I’m amazed that it’s still holding up beautifully for the community to enjoy 🤗💞

I also love the fact that it’s right on the corner of the Stanley Jones School, so the kids get to see this all the time! It was such a great project with lots of awesome memories painting with everyone!

Most life changes spring from a leap of faith. Leaving our comfort zone is never easy; it demands deep trust in ourselves or our Creator. Yet, every time we take flight out of courage, something beautiful follows. We return from these unpredictable journeys stronger, wiser, and more self-aware.

I once heard that we find the courage to fly far because we know someone is waiting for us back home. What is home? Our friends and family? Our foundation? Or the space where our honest and authentic self truly belongs?

Along the way
You watch the clouds dance a clumsy waltz
Catch the messages the wind whispers to you
You try to high-five the brilliant sun
And deeply inhale the grassy, grassy grass

GASP! Did the woods just... fart?
Did a raccoonie p**p in the colourful bushes?
Oh—does it matter? Do you care?
Between the majestic vistas and the wildlife funk
Up up up you keep going

At the tip of the mountain you conquered
Sits a quiet, rusty Summit Register
Here, you read the beautiful, sweaty words
Left by other conquerors in this gorgeous, wild ALBERTA

Lately, I’ve been wanting to redraw some of my older paintings, as well as to revisit ideas I once had, and the ones that never really left my mind.

I’ve never been someone who was just “born talented.”
So I’ve always told myself: work extra hard, keep practicing, keep creating and re-creating.

Sometimes it’s scary to see what others have accomplished. But I keep reminding myself to walk at my own pace, and be proud of every small step. ( It is for sure a constant struggle)

I recently started learning piano!! After only a month, I was encouraged to do my first ever recital. Playing in front of an audience— especially when most performers were much younger and more skilled — was honestly terrifying.

But this experience reminded me:
I am who I am, and I am where I am. (In life generally or on my creative path)
And I’m proud to witness how far I’ve come.

Lunar New Year is just around the corner! Let's celebrate the Year of the Horse with these special books from Plumleaf 🎈🩷

✨AKEMI’S SONG - written by and illustrated by myself- is a tender story of self-discovery. Young Akemi has been selected to sing her song on Lunar New Year Day, but she cannot find her song. Encouraged by her mother, she flies off on a quest to learn more about herself. At various stops on her journey around the beautiful island of Taiwan, she discovers different aspects of her personality, linked to the nature around her … and returns home in time to celebrate the New Year with her beautiful song.

AND!!! I would like to recommend the following ones as well:

•THE DRAGON’S EYES written and illustrated by Megan Chew , is a magical graphic novel for ages 7-to-10 about the all-important Lunar New Year’s Eve family reunion dinner. It celebrates family connections and cultural traditions.

•TWELVE IN A RACE, by Catherine Little .beyond.bedtime with art by Sae Kimura , relates the myth of the Big Race behind the Chinese zodiac, hence it is a favourite Lunar New Year story as well as an all-year-round book, often purchased as birthday or baby shower gifts, as people like finding out which animal in the zodiac the child belongs to.

•DRAGON’S DILEMMA, by Catherine Little with art by Sae Kimura, is also about the Big Race, but it tells the story of why Dragon, the biggest of all the animals in the race, and the only one that can fly, did not win the race.
