Alpha Lyrae is a multi star complex that houses Vega, a star that guides the brightness scale for all our lights. Vega was the first star to be photographed in 1850, at the Harvard Observatory, It will once again be the north pole star around the year 13,727. When Vega aligns directly above Fort Calgary on this year’s autumnal equinox BowWave will open the portal to Alpha Lyrae. Come be transported to Vega, take flight under the ancient eagle constellation, as it turns the celestial clock on the equinox.

BowWave is a collective of artists, engineers, makers and fabricators; a multi-faceted group with as many interpersonal connections as propensities. They have come together to create Portal 6: Alpha Lyrae for Beakernight 2018.
