Another one finished and officially added to the collection!

Four down… and I’m nowhere near done yet!!!!

Same colours. Different patterns. Different sizes. And I am LOVING watching this little collection grow.

New project loading…

I didn’t get quite as many things done this summer as I thought I would… but honestly, I’m okay with that.

I was busy putting the finishing touches on my dream yarn bunker, spending every minute I could with my boys, soaking up summer, and making time for family and friends.

But there’s still one very special project I need to finish before I can officially call the yarn bunker complete…

And these beauties are part of it.

Any guesses what I’m doing with them?!?!

Two weeks until back to school!!!!

Who am I supposed to take on my random weekday Michaels runs once school starts?!

My little right-hand man has spent the summer coming along for yarn runs, craft supply missions and all the other “I just need ONE thing” trips that somehow end up in a ton of laughs, so many fresh new ideas, and leaving with multiple bags. ❤️

I’m definitely going to miss having him along when September rolls around.

But perhaps the biggest question of all…

Every August, I make the same promise to myself…

Choose what matters most. My family.

For the next few weeks, Knit Happens YYC will be taking its annual summer break while I soak up every last bit of summer with my family, reset, recharge, and get ready for a busy fall and winter season.

Thank you for making this past year such an incredible one. Whether you’ve shopped with me, shared a post, stopped by to chat, or simply cheered me on from afar, you’ve helped this little business grow in ways I never imagined.

This year has reminded me that choosing what matters most isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. My business will be here when I get back in September. These summer moments with my family won’t.

I’ll be back rested, inspired, and more than ready for cozy season.

One little change this year… I won’t be doing any Christmas markets. Instead, I’m making room for a few exciting surprises that I can’t wait to share with you this holiday season.

Until then, you’ll probably find me by the lake, in the garden, or with a crochet hook in hand, making memories with my favourite people.

Have the most wonderful August, friends. 🩷

A very smart person once told me, “What’s the point of having a platform if you don’t use it to share the people and businesses you love?”

That has stuck with me.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a local business that completely blew me away… but last night, that changed.

🍕 Pizza Pat Pizza

The dough alone was worth the drive. Perfectly chewy, fresh ingredients, and hands down some of the best pizza I’ve had in a long time.

Add in amazing customer service, great conversation, and an all-around awesome guy behind the oven, and you’ve got something pretty special.

If you haven’t tried Patty Crust Pizza yet, do yourself a favour. Follow along to see where he’ll be next—you’ll find him every Tuesday this summer at the Cranston Community Market. Cranston Residents Association at Century Hall

Operation: Yarn Bunker Overhaul!!!!!

Today was finally the day.

I’m saying goodbye to all the yarn that doesn’t make me excited anymore so it can head off to new homes and become something beautiful. ❤️

Because life’s too short to crochet with yarn you don’t love.

Which, of course, means I’m conveniently making room for the yarn I do love… and maybe a few new skeins. 😏

Oliver has officially earned the title of Best Yarn Bunker Assistant. He sorted, hauled, stacked… and then promptly declared it was break time.

Honestly? Fair enough. 😂

I’m going to let my yarn-loving friends have first dibs, and whatever’s left will be listed on Facebook Marketplace for my fellow YYC makers.

Time to send this yarn off to people who will love creating with it as much as I once did. 🩷🧶 Can’t wait to share the final outcome with you all very soon!!!!!
