June 10th 7pm we welcome Hannah J Many Guns who selected THE BODY REMEMBERS WHEN THE WORLD BROKE OPEN, directed by Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers and Kathleen Hepburn.

Shot on 16mm film, the most of the film consists of a long unbroken shot in real time, displaying a chance encounter between two indigenous women dealing with domestic abuse.

This award-winning film was made with support from (including 11 young First Nations filmmaker mentees).

Tickets via and will be set up in the lobby with curated vintage, thrift, and art.

June 10th with guest , THE BODY REMEBERS WHEN THE WORLD BROKE OPEN is a 2019 drama written and directed by Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers and Kathleen Hepburn. Inspired by Tailfeathers’ real-life experience, the film follows a chance encounter between two Indigenous women in East Vancouver who navigate the trauma of domestic abuse, class disparities, and motherhood.
