And… we’re off and running!
We kicked off our 50th season with hoot and a holler and A LOT of laughs! (And a fabulous 50th Anniversary cake to share. Thank you Calgary Co-Op Oakridge!)
Lewis and Royal got the evening going in the right direction with a set that ran the gamut from tender ballads featuring superb harmonies, to hilarious tongue in cheek comedic creations.
And then, the whirlwind master of quick wit and absurdities that is Steve Poltz hit the stage!
Steve’s “quick-on-his-feet, rapid-fire, off in all directions”, brand of humour, songwriting and storytelling left the room wiping away tears from the laughter and definitely wanting more.

Calgary get ready! It’s the first show of our 50th season and it’s going to be a celebratory night that you don’t want to miss!

Steve Poltz is a singer-songwriter-performer of the first order, earning international applause and fans around the world with his inspired brand of rockin’ countrified folk Americana. His shows are the stuff of legend… a master of improvisational songwriting, Steve works without a set list, free to react instantly to the mood of the room, bringing you from laughter to tears and back again in the space of a single song!
Opening the evening is Alberta's own Lewis & Royal who write songs that celebrate the quirks and comforts of rural life. One moment you’ll be tapping your toes, the next, wiping away tears of laughter. Their stage chemistry is undeniable, and no two shows are ever quite the same. Quick on their feet, Lewis & Royal love to riff off each other and the audience, turning even the most unexpected moments into comedic gold.
