Our Starlite Original Legends Collection brings together sculptors Christopher Pardell, Kitty Cantrell and David Lemon around a single standard: fine art sculpture should earn its place through craft, accuracy and subjects whose stories deserve to endure.

Pardell documents Indigenous and Western frontier histories with quiet precision. Cantrell studies North American wildlife in the field, then sculpts each form with true-to-life anatomy. Different stories, the same commitment to significance and detail.

It was in Taiwan, standing in front of a large block of Canadian jade, that everything changed for David Wong.

He had trained in carving ivory. He had a law degree. But he set it all aside, moved to Vancouver in 1971 and spent the rest of his life working in stone.

That decision is why the EA Studios collection exists. We sponsored Wong from the year he arrived in Canada until his death in 1998, and what came out in those 27 years is some of the most significant jade sculptures produced on this continent.

EA Studios Calgary director Joseph Helmy recently visited Haultain Memorial Elementary School to introduce students to the artwork of Norval Morrisseau.

After learning about Morrisseau’s legacy, the class brought one of his pieces to life by completing their own colouring pages inspired by his work.

EA Studios also donated a Morrisseau print, "Teaching The Young," to the school.
