The Littlest H***y Tonk TV presents: Jake Worthington - “Bandy the Rodeo Clown” (Written by Sanger D Shafer & Lefty Frizzell). Jake could’ve gone all day recording more and more classic country tunes of his own or inspired by the walls of the h***y tonk - proving not only his prowess of knowledge of country music but his true undying love for the art. Cutting another Wh**ey & Lefty tune and doing it just right - Jake Worthington is sure to fill the walls of a museum one day. The world is lucky to have someone like Jake who remembers the day of Haggards ACL performance taking the reins on country & western. As rodeo season up north winds down - “Bandy the Rodeo Clown” feels timed for perfection celebrating the art of the sometimes less thought of entertainers of the rodeo circuit.

The Littlest H***y Tonk TV presents Jake Worthington - “My Home’s In Oklahoma”.

True to his Texan roots Jake Worthington is no stranger to the sounds of Western Swing. Truly a man bent on the perpetuation of Country AND Western Music, Jake surrounds himself with hotshot pickers like Mike “Tele” Tuck and Steel Guitar ace Adam Goodale. Rounded out by an outstanding rhythm section comprised of Jase Hale and Jim Bob Pendell. You could hear the dancehalls and beer joints echoing through our little horse trailer when Jake and the fellas kicked into “My Home’s In Oklahoma” a rollicking love song swung just right. The Littlest H***y Tonk TV presents Jake Worthington - I Never Go Around Mirrors.
There are few, if any Country songs that more clearly illustrate the lineage from the golden era through to today than “I Never Go Around Mirrors” . Complimentary to that sentiment there are few artists today that can harken back to that golden era with such sincerity as Jake Worthington. Cowritten by two pillars of the country music family tree, songsmith Wh**ey Shafer and the velvet voice himself Lefty Frizzell, “I Never Go Around Mirrors” is the gold standard for a sad song sung blue in C&W. The pedigree of this song includes the disciples of Lefty, such as Merle Haggard, Gene Watson, Daryle Singletary and Keith Whitley. Men who could deliver pure emotion on every note. Now it only seems appropriate for that neon torch to be passed to a young man with his boot heels planted firmly in that tradition. The Littlest H***y Tonk TV presents: Jake Worthington - “It Ain’t The Whiskey”. We met up with Jake and his band backstage at the Washington - Grizzlies stadium last fall to record some sessions prior to their opening set for Zach Top. Jake has the kind of country voice that feels like a piece of home and growing up with the country radio on the FM or AM dial. Lyrics and music that feel classic in nature with a larger than life voice - Jake Worthington is doing his due diligence to keep h***y tonk and country music alive.

The first time we met Jake Worthington was post set at Ponoka Stampede - a legendary Canadian rodeo spot. We told him about our project and instantly connected over the shared goal of preserving country and western music - not just for the songs but the culture. Country music has traditionally been made from the people for the people - relatable stories of every day life, dreams, and love. We are excited to be bringing you 5 videos in collaboration with Jake Worthington from our meetup last October before his concert in Missoula, MT - we could’ve filmed an entire live show I’m sure because Jake sure loves to play music but he had a show to put on. A true h***y tonker, an absolute show man, and someone who’s got our support to carry the country music flag to the masses. Stay tuned every Monday for the next few weeks for The Littlest H***y Tonk TV x Jake Worthington series.

The Littlest H***y Tonk TV & ​⁠Calgary Folk Music Festival present: ​⁠ Willi Carlisle - “Big Butt Billy”. It has been one full year since last year’s Calgary Folk Festival when we were settled into the inner city island along the Bow River in Calgary’s downtown with one of our friends Willi Carlisle. A folk singer who still holds up the tradition of story telling outside and within song, even if that song is about a bodacious pie-serving person - their stories should be told too. Willi has been serving up fine folks songs all across the land for years and is a fine folk too who we are so lucky to have been able to capture a preserve a big butt piece of that magic. The Littlest H***y Tonk TV presents: - "Me and the Old Promised Land". Country Music connoisseur , custodian of Canadiana, radio raconteur, travelling troubadour and sideman, Sean Burns is truly a h***y tonk renaissance man. You may recognize Burnsy from his work as Corb Lund’s bull fiddlin’ side man, his many years crooning in Canada’s dive bars or from his syndicated FM radio round up “Boots & Saddle”. I don’t know anyone who has done more for the preservation of Canadian Country music in this day and age, performing, broadcasting and archiving the faded songs of yesteryears forgotten stars. Sean brought us a Joe Firth & The Promised Land tune called “Me and The Old Promised Land” from his ambitious archival/revival album Lost Country (2023).
