Sylvias love of nature and passion for the outdoors inspire her to paint. Whether walking, hiking or skiing, she is often moved by the landscape, the interplay of light and shadow, and how this affects color and reflections. Later in the studio, these moments are then translated into an interpretation of how she sees and feels the scene. By painting these moments, she hopes to evoke similar feelings of passion, awe and serenity in the viewer.

Her work explores the beauty of nature through abstraction. Organic patterns and colourful brushstrokes are her visual language to convey emotions and to communicate with the outside world.
