Meet Ruth — A Longtime Member of the Peel Agricultural Society! ❤️
Some stories with the Peel Agricultural Society don’t just go back a few years — they go back decades!
Ruth has been part of the Society since the 1980s. Her journey with the Society began thanks to her mother, who was involved with the Homecraft Section and asked Ruth if she would be interested in joining. What started as an introduction to volunteering became a lasting connection to the Society and the agricultural community.
Over the years, Ruth has been deeply involved with Homecraft, serving for many years as the Homecraft Secretary. She also served as District #5 Homecraft Director and Assistant Homecraft Director, and represented District #5 with the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies.
Today, Ruth continues to serve as a Director on the main Board, where she says the experience has been a learning journey — a wonderful example of how volunteering can grow into decades of involvement, friendships, leadership, and community.
From the old fairgrounds on Elliott Street to today, Ruth has been part of the story of the Peel Agricultural Society for generations. 🌾
