Ottawa bluesman Jed "Rocket” Rached had a voice as deep and thunderous as the rumble of his Harley-Davidson, a personality big enough to fill any stage and a mission to share the music he loved.

We are deeply saddened at the passing of Rocket Rached - He led our after party jam for many years and was a true champion of the blues.

We have decided that we will pause the festival for another year in light of current circumstances. We hope you have music to keep uplifted through difficult times. We will reconvene next year in February in the hopes that we can gather again to celebrate the Blues in beautiful Calabogie.

Dear fans and followers of Calabogie Blues and Ribfest,
It’s been a great ride, 8 years of blues in the beautiful hills of Greater Madawaska Township. This year the organizing committee came together and concluded that we are too burned-out to deliver a festival this year. We are taking the year off.

There are a bunch of factors that we weighed before arrival at this decision. We will miss the music and the food, but more than anything we will miss the friendships that we have made with many of you.

We hope you find another festival to call home in August. Thank you for eight spectacular years.

Last show starts at 4:00 today. You can still buy tickets at the gate or come try out valet service for food. You don’t have to pay admittance to enjoy ribs, pad Thai or just a good old burger and fries. Service costs just $2.
