Breaking the stereo types of Latin culture. We are a collective that produces the show Yucastereo every Sunday LIVE! at CJSF 90.1 in Burnaby BC at Simon Fraser University. Yucastereo is in Spanish and English. We play Ska, Reggae, Surf and happy music for people to dance. We generally have artists playing LIVE! as we support local musicians and like to get Canadian content in our shows. Our show i

s hosted by a series of fictional characters who wear wrestling masks and talk about music, current affairs and jokes. Our show has a large audience in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and other countries among the Latin community in Vancouver. Many English speaking people enjoy our show because of the music. We also support and sponsor artistic events and interview members of our community to inform Latin Canadians about current issues that affect them. We also touch on cinema and interview film directors. Our show is very dynamic as we have different characters like El Chamako who started the show over 10 years ago, Sr. Chipotles, Dr. Cumbia, Tono Misterios and last but not least, dj Leo Luna among other guests.
