This week I bowled the PBA50 World Series of Bowling at JAX60 , in Jackson, Michigan. Owner Dave Small and his staff take a lot of pride in their center and really go above and beyond to do so much for everyone to have such a pleasant experience !! Personally I had a “so so” week. I did cash in the main event ( 24 games over 3 days on 3 different patterns ). My best event was day 1 where I qualified 5th out of 163 for the Round of 16 Match Play Finals thanks to games 2,3,4 of 820. Then In Match Play , I won my first match , unfortunately lost my second match to a red hot Tony Oliva. I finished 6th. On this 36 foot pattern I used my Hammer Black Pearl Urethane and Envy Tour Solid. I’ve decided to take this next week off and reset out west with my wife and daughter to visit Family. Very much looking forward to Vancouver Island !! My next and last PBA50 National Event of the season will be the Tournament of Champions in Akron , Ohio the week of Aug 12. I’ve been looking forward to this event since I won my 1st PBA Title in March of 2023. Missed it last year due to injury. Hi Everyone this is a combo post … thanking everyone for the Birthday Wishes , as yesterday was my 59th Birthday ( no old man jokes please lol ) … my birthday was spent driving home most of the day from Virginia, USA. I bowled the PBA50 Bud Moore Player’s Championship this past week , my first event in 6 weeks coming off my calf injury , I fell short of making the top 24 by 40 pins , however I did cash. I’ll take that as a positive into the PBA50 World Series Of Bowling this coming week in Detroit, MI.
This week was very enjoyable , I stayed with Deke Handlowich and his wife , Rick Graham and Missy , Mika Koivuniemi and Danny Wiseman . Great people , awesome week !! BIG thanks to this weeks tournament sponsor , Mr. Bill Moore Bill Moore and ALL he does for us PBA50 players. As always thank you to my sponsors , Turbo Grips , Compass Sportswear and BRUNSWICK. This weekend, I bowled in the Players Tour grand finale event at Leisure Lanes. The top 24 from Saturday returned today for another six games of match play today.

Saturday I qualified in 10th place.

This morning with about 2 minutes left in practice I felt a pop in my left calf muscle. Well that was it for me , I could not continue. Instantly it was hard to walk and quite painful. I had no idea this was coming.

I instantly told the tournament director , Tyler so he had time to quickly find an alternate.

Sorry to the other finalists as this caused a bit of a delay.

My 1st round opponent James Koo is quite a nice guy , he was more concerned about me than practicing himself when this happened. What a show of such good character !

Thanks to buddies Patrick Brick and George as well those there showing concern for me , asking how I was , hopefully this is a little blip in the radar and I can continue the rest of my PBA50 events this summer.

Big thanks to Mark Davies and the staff there at Leisure Lanes for 1st hosting a flawless event , helping me get some ice , and helping me get my equipment to the truck.

This week I bowled the PBA50 Fort Myers Classic in Florida. Really enjoyed staying with Ryan Shafer and Troy Lint this week. We bowled on the 47 foot Badger Pattern. After 18 games I qualified in 16th place for Match Play. I won my first match 2-0 with a couple really good games. That allowed me the opportunity to take on one of the hottest guys out here , Tom Hess , in the round of 16. Both games were somewhat close , but Tom was just better and beat me 2-0. My 4th straight Match Play appearance so gotta be happy about that. I believe I took a few more steps forward this week , applying new tools and understanding how conditions change out here. Work in progress. This week I used a DV8-XLR8 , Brunswick Defender and Envy Tour.

This week we were in Florida at the Villages. My week started off arriving in Clermont to stay with good friend Jason Couch , his family and our buddy Donald Hogue It’s hard being away from home and my family multiple weeks following a dream however being with super people in a comfortable environment helps a lot. For me this week bowling was a week of understanding , being patient and building … I applied something new I’ve been working on with success , so that in itself is a positive. I qualified 12th out of a field 186 , then lost a tuff match , it’s on me. I believe one week I’ll put it all together out here. My work must continue.

This week I travelled from Westland , Michigan, then stopped in Akron, Ohio to see my good buddy Donald Hogue at his awesome pro shop at Riviera Lanes , drilled a few balls … and was fortunate enough to see many of the best in the world practicing and hanging out at the T of C.
I then made another stop in West Virginia , stayed the night and hung out with good friend Jason Couch . Then travelled to North Carolina. This week we bowled the PBA50 stop in Aberdeen, North Carolina. I had a rough start , figured it out during my block , then in the second block improved some , and in the advancer around moved up again to qualify in fifth position and get a buy in Match Play.
Unfortunately , again I struggled in match play , enuf said. On to Florida !! Next stop THE VILLAGES !!

This week I bowled the first national stop of the PBA50 tour in Westland, Michigan. After 18 games , I qualified in 8th position and received a 1 round bye in Match Play. I lost in the round of 16. My opponent John Rakowski bowled awesome in Match Play and just out bowled me.

The lanes hooked quite a bit this week. I used a couple Obsession Tours , WebMB , Offset Attack and a Tundra Fire 🔥.

This past Easter Weekend weekend I bowled the PBA50 Sherry Bodkins Memorial Central Open in Galion , Ohio. I bowled A squad on Saturday then had to wait to see if I advanced. I snuck into the cut of top 12 for the Sunday Round Robin Match Play in 12th. A lot of work was ahead of me to do to move up. I lost my first match 279-233 to my roommate for the weekend , buddy Donald Hogue. Then I won the next 11 matches averaging 238 on the day.
Only 20 pins separated 1st thru 3rd in the final position round game. I was 2nd going in , Leading was Tom Adcock. I beat Tom 255-205 to Clinch my 3rd PBA Regional Title. Congratulations to Tom Adcock for a great tournament and Leading most of the tournament !

Thank you so much to Laurie Rinehart and Ken Bodkins and both the Bodkins & Rinehart families for everything they do , was a fantastic event !!

Thanks to our PBA Central Region Manager Robert Jakel for running a well organized, flawless event.
