Self-Tape Audition Submissions are OPEN for our August 10, 2024 âShake-In-A-Dayâ Production of A Winterâs Tale.
Our production will take a different approach to the play in a day concept than we have used previously. However, the basic principle remains that the actors will not rehearse their production together with a director until the day of the performance! Actors must be available on Saturday August 10, 2024 from 9am-11pm.
Actors whose auditions are successful WILL rehearse some storytelling techniques and team building exercises with their fellow cast mates in the weeks leading up to the performance, however they will NOT be aware of casting information. Actors will need to be familiar with the play and ALL roles. Actors will be told which, if any, roles will be doubled.
If you would like to participate in our production of A Winterâs Tale Shake-In-A-Day please submit a self-tape audition to [email protected] by Tuesday April 30, 2024.
Your self-tape should include two contrasting speeches from any Shakespeare play (pieces do not need to be from the same production, nor do they need to be from A Winterâs Tale). You may send your speeches as two separate videos. Please slate at the top of each video with your name and act/scene/play details of your speech. You may wish to include a theatrical resume, please submit in PDF format. Please ensure you list any possible conflicts in your email so that our team building rehearsals can be worked around those where possible.
This is an Amateur, Non-Union, Non-Paid production. It is our âseason openerâ and as such is a light hearted, community building style of theatre. We get one shot at the performance, but loads of time to make friends and build a team.
