Our Clay Studios came alive with the energy of participants in our 5-day Mentor-in-Residence program, ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ค๐ข ๐๐จ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐, led by acclaimed ceramic artist Grace Han.
This participant-led intensive invited artists to meet clay with openness, embracing spontaneity and intuition.
When you sit at the wheel you intend to throw, but not throw to the floor. And yet, on the final day, participants engaged in a gesture perhaps only Grace would encourage. What might seem destructive became an act of liberation, a reminder that the creative process is as meaningful as the object itself, and that letting go can be its own form of making.
Thank you to Grace and this yearโs participants for their courage, curiosity, and willingness to explore the unknown.
