Are you an artist located in Brockville, Ontario who is interested in gaining public art experience and building your art practice? Downtown Brockville BIA is seeking local emerging artists to participate in street banners and ground decals public art activation!

STEPS Public Art and the Downtown Brockville BIA are thrilled to announce this opportunity for emerging artists in Brockville. The selected artists will work with STEPS and the Downtown Brockville BIA to create digital illustrations which will be displayed on the main streets. This initiative will help beautify the main streets and further build a sense of community.

STEPS Public Art’s I HeART Main Street, presented in partnership with RBC through RBC Emerging Artists, is a program supporting Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) and local community groups with the support they need to activate their main streets through public art and placemaking. This program engages BIAs, local artists and businesses to create and safe communities.

A big thanks goes out to Dylan for getting the tourism office wall pressure washed and primed for us this August! A few coats later and the wall looks great. In the last picture you’ll see the first rolls of paint for this mural, painted in by Guy Wales last week as he started working on the background of the design.

With city council’s blessing, we can finally unveil the location of the Brockville Walls Project’s next mural!The Tourism Office is an anchor of our downtown, and this summer the north side wall will be reimagined with a fresh, interactive design by Guy Wales, lead artist on this project. A special shoutout also goes out to Katherine Hobbs and the team at for partnering with our team on this project and for successfully securing funds through grants and for all of their hard work these last few months!
