diences, with an experiential performance style that engages the audience directly within the show - whether it be all-ages festival shows, or b***y adult pub-style shenanigans – crowds have the feeling that they have travelled back in time to 300 years ago to the Golden Age of Piracy when they encounter this one-of-a-kind pirate Celtic nautical performance style. Capt'n Tor is renowned and credited for the creation of his ‘Pirate Invasion’ kind of Pub-Crawl Performance, where the troupe take over ‘unsuspecting’ venues and regale them with b***y song, racy toasts, and all manner of rollickin' debaucheries designed to give the clientele an unforgettable experience that has them feel that the life of a pirate is fer them! The pirate experience Capt’n Tor provides is multifaceted and flexible – depending on the venue’s needs. On the one end, there is the Full Pirate Encampment Experience that is usually part of a festival - with period-accurate tents fully outfitted, with the entire area decorated to transport festival goers to experience life as a pirate ashore may have. The encampment, complete with the Ship-Wreak Stage, a pirate pavilion in which stories from the swashbuckling sea are told, a sword-fighting ring, many old-fashioned interactive games, a pirate mercantile, and a 12 foot tall pirate skeleton puppet is mesmerising in its level of detail and extravagance is like a festival within a festival. All-ages Stage shows between 30 minutes to 1 hour can occur on the stage within the encampment or on the main festival stage as required and include a fantastic variety of songs, games, and theatre to engage all. Smaller festival venues may wish to just hire the troupe for performance only however, in which case either full stage performances or spontaneous crowd-drawing wandering performances can be provided throughout the venue. For the adult crowd, Capt’n Tor also offers a B***y Pirate Show that can be tailored to the time and location. With rowdy b***y pirate celtic music – both traditional and original – and interspersed with saucy toasts, limericks, and theatrical antics – this show is sure to please! Included are a number of signature b***y games and activities engaging the audience in highly entertaining unforgettable antics! Whether it is a single set of music or a 3 hour night of mayhem and debauchery, it is all possible with Capt’n Tor’s crew! Capt’n Tor has also established a growing pirate community as a result of fans experiencing their music and wishing to continue to live as pirates! In 2014, ‘The 1000 Islands Pirate Society’ (TIPS-Y) was established to provide an opportunity for fans of Capt’n Tor to participate more fully in the immersion experience. This volunteer-based organization is now 80+ members strong across Ontario, Quebec and New York State USA, with Gun Crew Chapters established in four areas, with Officers assigned to ensure members are aware of and support attendance at Capt’n Tor official events. This growing and vibrant community of pirates is a force for good and joins the Troupe during festivals, pub crawls, and other performances wearing authentic pirate garb and adding another layer of theatre to the Capt’n Tor experience – with select members coming onto the stage to provide guest performances, run games and activities for children, and take on roles within the encampment. Capt’n Tor’s Troupe currently has three albums in the digital seas.
