What a fun night of racing at Peterborough Speedway today. We started the day finding a small hole in our radiator as we were loading the car, which we had missed in last week's repair.
Thank you to Doug Wills for lending us a radiator so we could compete today.
The radiator repair cost us a missed practice, but we were able to get out for the second set of practice laps and quickly found we needed a few more adjustments. The heat race and a great roll had us starting outside pole, which we finally felt ready to file into our start position and give it a go. The car wanted to wash up the track, and we finished 5th in the heat.
Back to the drawing board we went, made some additional adjustments, and decided to give it a try. Despite something hitting the track in the corner and shooting some sparks, we had a blast playing chase and some follow-the-leader. We had a near miss when we took advantage of a tiny moment of clearance with Tyler and fought for control for a couple of minutes, but overall finished not last and didn't need to rebuild again.
Thank you to all our fellow drivers for bringing such an entertaining experience to the Late Model Feature tonight. And as usual, without our sponsors, we wouldn't be able to do this every week. NJ Bread Co. and K&K Kustoms
