In conjunction with brighton__public__library BACC curates art by local artist to hang on the walls of the library every few months. You can get your book and take in some art all in one spot. A community partnership we are proud to partake in! There is also a display of local art hung inside the Brighton Gates Restaurant, thank-you to them as well for supporting local art 🖼️

In a modern world that often feels disconnected from the rhythms of nature and the wisdom of our ancestors, the drumming circle offers a sacred space to reconnect with ourselves, each other and the ancient feminine power that resides within us all.

The circle provides a safe, supportive space for participants to explore their creativity, release emotions and tap into their inner wisdom.

Doors open at 6:00 pm

Cost: donation only (suggested amount $5.00)

Songs: NEW - lyrics for some songs will be provided prior to the session

What to bring: If you have your own Woman’s drum please bring otherwise please dress in comfortable clothing

Learn to draw, then paint!

Before you learn to paint, learn to see.
This class focuses on the fundamentals of drawing-observation, proportion, shape, line, value, and composition-to build the skills and confidence you need to paint successtully.
By strengthening your drawing skills first, you’ll develop a better understanding of form, light, and structure, making the transition to painting more intuitive and rewarding.
Once you’ve completed a sketch we will move on to creating a watercolour painting from it.

ACRYLIC LANDSCAPE INTENSIVE
(Best for moderate level painters)
Discover the art of capturing the world around you in an intimate, focused setting. Designed for those looking to deepen their landscape skills, this workshop strips away the intimidation of the canvas. Rather than chasing perfection, you will learn practical, time-tested techniques to truly see a scene and understand the tricks of the eye that bring a landscape to life.
Working within the inspiring space of the gallery, we will practice painting directly from a scene, mastering perspective, landscape construction, and the essential mechanics of color mixing.
* Visual Mechanics: Understanding values, contrast, and working effectively with light.
* Immersive Practice: Developing perspective by translating a real-world scene to canvas.
* Individualized Attention: Limited to a maximum of six participants for tailored, hands-on guidance.
Refine your process and translate light, shadow, and distance into a cohesive landscape. Spaces are strictly limited—reserve your easel today.

Bring your own 16x20 or 18x24 canvas. Bring your own paints+brushes optional; bring several photocopied images of what you’d like to paint.

🌻 PAINT THIS! 🌻 September 12 Elizabeth will guide you through painting a cluster of sunflowers. It will be painted in acrylic with step-by-step instruction, and you will leave with a finished work of art! Workshop is suitable for teens and adults.
