Dear Brantford Cabaret Cast:
Wow.
What an incredible show!
As we sit and reflect on our performance of Practically Perfect in Every Way, we are filled with pride, gratitude, and so much joy.
You did it.
Not only did you put on a wonderful show, but you performed for the largest audience we have ever had. We had a full house, a capacity crowd, and every single person in that audience got to see the amazing talent, hard work, and heart that each of you brought to the stage.
From the very first rehearsal to the final bow, you grew so much.
Some of you arrived nervous and unsure of yourselves. Some of you had never been on stage before. Some of you were quiet, shy, or worried about making mistakes.
But look at you now.
You sang.
You danced.
You acted.
You made people laugh.
You made people smile.
And most importantly, you believed in yourselves.
We would like to offer special congratulations to Amirah for her wonderful performance as Mary Poppins and Sawyer for bringing Bert to life with so much energy and charm.
A huge round of applause also goes to Delilah, who took on the very big role of Mr. Banks and did an outstanding job, and to our newest cast member, Jocelyn, for her beautiful portrayal of Mrs. Banks. Sidney's charming Bird Lady was the SEED that was planted for the evening!!!
To the Banks children, the Bird-Umbrella, the Chimney Sweeps, the Kite Flyers, Mr. Riley the Banker, and every single performer who stepped onto that stage—you mattered. Every role was important. Every scene was important. Every one of you helped create something magical.
One of the most wonderful parts of the evening was seeing so many people come to support you.
We saw parents, grandparents, siblings, teachers, principals, friends, past cast members and so many important people from your lives sitting in the audience cheering you on.
To your families, thank you.
Thank you for driving to rehearsals, helping with costumes, practicing lines, encouraging your children, and supporting this adventure from beginning to end. We could not have done it without you.
Most of all, we want to thank YOU.
Thank you for your hard work.
Thank you for your kindness.
Thank you for your courage.
Thank you for your resilience.
Thank you for trusting us and trusting each other.
And before you put Mary Poppins away for the summer, we have one more request.
Keep singing Practically Perfect in Every Way.
That song belongs to you.
You helped create it.
You helped shape it.
You gave it life.
Not every cast gets to say they have their very own original song, but you do.
Who knows? Maybe one day we'll publish it so even more people can hear the song that this cast created together.
For now, keep singing it proudly.
Keep believing in yourselves.
Keep being creative.
Keep being brave.
And keep sharing your gifts with the world.
We are already looking forward to seeing many of you again in September when we begin our next adventure: The Greatest Show in Auradon — a magical mashup of The Greatest Showman and Descendants.
We'll talk more about that in the future, but for now, take a moment to celebrate what you accomplished.
You should be very proud.
Because we certainly are.
Thank you for making this show practically perfect in every way.
With love and gratitude,
Joan Minnery
