We caught up with Western Canada Hockey Academy student Kale Nicol to hear about his experience at the World Selects Invitational tournament.
As a Grade 8 WCHA student, Kale shares what it’s like balancing school and training while developing his game in a high performance environment. He also highlights the importance of not taking shortcuts and doing everything fully, along with the daily habits that drive his growth. His message is strong advice for any student-athlete striving to reach the level he has achieved.
The WCHA has loved watching Kale grow into an elite student-athlete. While many see the goals and success, the real work happens behind the scenes through hours on the ice, in the gym, and at home. Teachers, coaches, and trainers are proud to be part of his journey as he graduates from Grade 8 this year, and we can’t wait to see where his path leads next as he continues working toward his goal of representing Team Canada at the World Juniors.
