“Winter Wander Droid”

I saw this painting and thought it was such a beautiful scene, it needed someone going for a winter walk by that calm pond. I’m not sure the local wildlife would approve, but the droid seems to be enjoying himself.


This original painting by Anna Jalava is in very good condition… it’s just fallen victim to being an older style of decor. Couple chips out of the frame which I colour matched to not distract from the main piece.

Ode to Star Wars | Pink Death Star Moon

This piece looked like something was missing from the night sky… and with the pink reflections already painted on the water, the obvious choice was a Pink Moon! The April full moon is known as the Pink Moon in North America, after the wildflowers that grow this time of year. Where I was, it just happened to actually be pink that evening. So I was inspired to paint this pink Death Star moon.

PS for those on my waiting list for Death Stars… more are coming before May the 4th!


This piece was found at a local thrift store. I spent some time restoring it by removing ni****ne stains from the surface. The frame had a few chips which were also glued back and repaired. I actually wonder if it would be nicer with the frame repainted, or replaced with a simpler one… something to consider if you are looking to collect her.

Hi... it's been a while! My work and business practices have been evolving over the last several months. I'm thoroughly enjoying two streams of fine art, 1) expressionist painting inspired by local Ontario landscapes, and 2) playfully upcycling vintage artwork. The way I share and sell my work has drastically changed... I am primarily sharing my artwork on Instagram. Day 1 : A favourite painting…hands down is still “A Whole Field of Dahlias… for me!”

At 5x4 ft acrylic on canvas, it is one of my larger paintings. I set aside a week in March last year to paint something for myself… it had to be this view of the fields at Andrews Scenic Acres in Milton. Was an enjoyable week experimenting with looser brush strokes, which has influenced my work since. I also had help… one of our conures loves to sit on my paintbrush and chew the end, so it’s a bit of a dance keeping her out of the paint!

Over the next few months I have planned some time to return to painting the fields of peonies, sunflowers and dahlias grown at the farm.
