Bruno is thrilled to share the completion of "Touchstone", the public art project which he began in 2024. This large bronze work is now installed and available for viewing in Edmonton, Alberta.

Deepest thanks to both Carvel Creative and the Edmonton Arts Council for their assistance in bringing this vision to life and to the City of Edmonton - Local Government's Public Art Program for the opportunity to create this piece.

Mayberry Fine Art carry some of our favorite artists so it's truly an honour to be included in their line up.

We are thrilled to present a curated selection of work by contemporary artist Bruno Canadien. On the series Mother Tongue/Ehts’o Ket’a, Canadien writes:

“The original impetus for this work came in the form of 3 pairs of beaded moccasin tops, made by Setsu heɂi and gifted to me posthumously by my Aunt Elsie, with the suggestion that I incorporate them into my practice. These beaded tops have come to symbolize my relationship with my grandmother: quiet, beautiful, yet tangible. Expanding the symbolism, and without exaggeration, Dene traditional artwork represents our love for family and our love for our land, Denendeh. It is this symbolism at play in these paintings.”

On view at Mayberry Fine Art, Tuxedo beginning Saturday, November 30th.

Glenbow is having a book sale right now, including the catalogue for the "Made In Calgary" group show which Bruno was included in along with many of the alumni of Calgary's modern art scene. Time flies although it feels like this exhibition was only yesterday.

This piece fairly dances with exuberance! Flat matte and gleaming gloss black lines act as a foundation for the intense colours of multiple scarves of folded flagging tape in bright neon shades which delight the eye. Finishing tacks set off the complex collage which holds the center of the work firm.
