Today’s show at the Savoy Theatre was a special fundraiser for The Coast 89.7 Radio 🎶 It was a beautiful tribute to three Cape Breton musicians and reminds us how important it is to honour Cape Breton musicians and culture at the concert each year ❤️

We’re always so grateful to partner with The Coast for the Big Pond Concert—such an important collaboration that celebrates our music and community.

You’ll notice “the field” behind the church in the video — that’s exactly where the Big Pond Concert takes place! Seeing it from above really reminds us what a special spot it is. 🎶🌿

Remembering Jackie 💙

We’re so grateful for Jackie- a pioneer of Big Pond who is woven into the fabric of our community.

We’re especially thankful that we took the time to celebrate him at the 2024 concert, and that his family helped make it possible for him to hear our dedication and experience another concert. That moment feels even more special now because it was so him — quietly sitting back, taking it all in, not wanting any attention, just happy to be surrounded by the place, people and music he loved.

The Big Pond concert wouldn’t exist without Jackie and his generation — the ones with the vision, heart, and grit to make it all happen all those years ago. Big Pond will never be quite the same, and that leaves us so sad. But our gratitude, respect, and admiration for Jackie are forever rooted in this community and will continue to guide us forward.

Jackie was a simple man who knew what truly mattered — family, friends, hard work, and community. He taught us all, just by being himself.

What an incredible day at the Big Pond Concert!

Another year of perfect weather, beautiful music, and a crowd that made the field come alive with energy and fun!
