Join us tonight for the opening of our latest exhibits, including Dean Hirtle's HERE & THERE. To whet your appetite, we've featured a few images from Dean's show here -- including one of the artist himself with the exhibit.

Experience the wanderlust of Dean Hirtle's HERE & THERE. Dean's photography captures personal travel experiences, in his words: "Travel broadens one's perspective and provides opportunities to capture part of that personal experience in photographs. My hope is that these images resonate with others and perhaps inspire their travel aspirations."

In addition to our Main Exhibit, we also have our Featured Member exhibit, Sandy MacIntosh's VIRTUAL GARDENS. From the artist himself: "I love documenting the forms, colours and textures of the natural world surrounding us. Being in these environmental relationships provides healing, joy, and a never-ending meditation on how we co-exist and grow together."

Our Fresh Ideas Exhibit this month is Graeme Coxon's STILL LIFES WITH CAMERA -- how to create photographic still lifes with every day objects - even FISH!
Our Gallery B this month features work from 10 of our members, including Ron Pitts, Laszlo Podor, Heather Rose, Anne Bastedo, Craig Benjamin, Kathleen Flanagan, Roxanne Smith, Allan Neilsen, Kim Ottenbrite, and Colin Chase.

Many of the photographers behind these works will be in attendance!

Each month ViewPoint features a photograph from our International Photography Competition. For June 2026, we are proud to present Monique Campbell (Canada, IG: ) with her photograph "Notre Philosophie en couleur".

Artist Statement:

In 2018, I exhibited my photograph Perspective in the Salon des Beaux Arts at the Carrousel du Louvre in the basement of the Louvre. I was thrilled to be in Paris, France exhibiting and being a flâneur strolling the streets in the shadows of my photographic heroes André Kertész and Henri Cartier-Bresson. While in the Pigalle area near the Moulin Rouge, I spotted this woman and loved her look. I made the image as she was drinking her latte on Christmas Day. The mystery shrouding her face held my attention. Notre Philiosophie en couleur is one of my fond memories from the City of Light.

Biography:

Monique Campbell is a humanist street and fine art photographer from Hamilton, Ontario. She graduated from the Western Pacific Academy of Photography in Victoria, B.C., and has over 35 years of experience as a professional photographer.

Some of her exhibition highlights include the following. In 2018, she exhibited at the Salon des Beaux Arts in Paris, France, at the Carrousel du Louvre. In 2021, she was among 52 finalists for the Salt Spring National Art Prize. In 2024, she exhibited in the ViewPoint Gallery's Plus 1 show alongside Jane Oram. Both are looking forward to their joint street photography exhibition in March 2027 at the Craig Gallery, titled 'Two Lenses on Dartmouth'. ViewPoint Gallery selected her image Uwe Reading for their International Competition and exhibited the piece in July 2025.

Monique's work has been published, collected, and exhibited locally around Ontario, nationally in Canada, and internationally.

Price: $450
