and many other artists as they will be celebrating the greatest arts development to hit Central Ontario!

How is this possible?
Thanks be to Joshua Doerksen, Gary Long, Darrin Peterkin, Jeff Wardell, Damian Spaulding, and Michael Jack (all recording studio and video production facilitators in our region), artists will be joining together to compete to win a free "single" provided by each team. One free video production package will be awarded to a winner as well. Once completed, we open up the stage to you! Come and see the performances of the best musicians our region has to offer!

How can you get involved?
1) Tell 10 friends!
Tickets are only $10 and an outstanding roster of musicians are only as good as the audience they attract to cheer them on! The venue only seats a maximum of 160 people therefore this event will quickly become packed! Thankfully there are planned to be many performances scheduled to be back to back that day starting at 2:00 and ending at about 9:00 at night.
Please respond to this message to reserve your ticket before they are all sold out. If the weather is good, we just may turn the event into a "Woodstock" style outdoor concert. Here's to planning for good weather!

2) Invite a fellow musician to perform
We are only allowing about 20 musicians to participate in the competition aspect of the performance and it may not be too late to spread the word and be added to the list in order to win a free "single" by one of the top recording artists in our region.

3) Invite a recording studio owner
We still have room on our panel of recording studio owners for one or two more seats. If you own a recording studio or video production company (large or small), give us a shout and we will add you to our panel of engineers able to create a free single or video production package for one of the top artists in Central Ontario. We in turn will offer our gratitude by promoting your studio and services to our local region.

All proceeds from the event go toward Central School of The Arts in preparation for the massive concert series about to hit our region. Now is your chance to show your support for Central School of The Arts by attending our first concert and grabbing the first Central merch to hit our region. Thank you for your continued support. Thanks in large part to you, we had a breakthrough week this week!

The City of Barrie is now facilitating us however they can and we have also heard from the Board of Education twice this week as they directly facilitated our need to find the material required to make Central School of The Arts a success!

Thank you soooo much for taking action and showing that you care!

What's next?
Now is your time to be on camera if you would like! Starting this week we will be recording any past and present students of the Spaulding Schools that would like to share with the world what they love about how we teach, what you have learned, how you have personally grown, and what you love about the new Central School of The Arts movement that has now begun.
People from all across the world are now hearing of the awesome things we are doing here in Central Ontario and I would truly love it if you can share with the world why you love the Spaulding Method and how we teach. Can you please write back with some available times that you or your family can join us at the 80 Bradford Street location in Barrie for a video shoot? Our School of Production crew will do their best to be there when you need them. Speak your piece now and tell the world how excited you are about what we as a community have been doing. With your help, even greater achievements are about to be made!

Central Alumni?
Along the lines of television production, all Central Alumni (of all time) are invited to our production space to also share with the world their favorite memories of their time at central. Now you can air all the little secrets and stories that impacted you in your youth. I am sure anyone that has attended a Canadian high school will identify with your story and we want to help you share it!

Let us now work-together to preserve the heritage that has been part of our community for over 150 years.


Fund Raising
We are now in the process of acquiring a not-for-profit charity that will support the new Central School of The Arts facility as well as the new education space. Through this new foundation, members in our community can sponsor families that would like to experience the benefits of the Central approach to learning, as well as help us raise the capitol needed to purchase the facility from the Simcoe County Board of Education. Please stay tuned to our many up-coming fund raising events including huge concerts, auctions and many other events:

An extra-ordinary Open Mic this past Saturday! A rockin turnout! we had to bring chairs out of storage to fit everyone! performances were amazing and we are truly ramping up to an excellent variety show this coming spring!

Huge news for you!

Open Mic is in 7 days: Saturday January 30th and starting this Saturday, the last Saturday of every month will be our new open mic experience! You, as well as all kinds of art talents in our community are invited to attend: Dancers, Actors, Musicians, Writers and more!

Our School of Production team will be there to create a really cool highlight reel for this Open Mic that artists can use to promote themselves as other venues as well.

On the growth side:
We now have 2 new Open Mic locations starting right after this one!
The first Open Mic will be located at the bottom of Blue Mountain at a really awesome restaurant called The Lodge:

The new Blue Mountain (Collingwood) Open Mic will be held the first Saturday of every month.

So now the largest and most dynamic Arts School in Central Ontario has become the instigator of largest multi-community collaborative Open Mic / Community Stage experience in Central Ontario!

I almost forgot! All of these Open Mics are now culminating into the largest Community Celebration of the arts our region has ever experienced.

The Spaulding School of Arts has now rented a venue just outside of Barrie to host an epic Variety Show where all artists from across the region can expose themselves to the public as well as the press!
This Epic Variety Show will be held May 13th and 14th and talents of all kinds are welcome to participate. More information will be shared soon but you can begin to spread the word that great things have been brewing.

The Spaulding School of Arts will also be holding Open Auditions soon for artists that can't quite make an Open Mic mic night. When you come to an Open Mic, simply let us know that you would like to be a part of the variety show and we can view your Open Mic performance as your audition if you would like. We have everything there to make it happen!

The Barrie event is not a restaurant so please bring your own water (in a re-usable bottle) and a snack if you so choose. Also bring a can for the local food drive. There is no charge at the door and we would love to support the local food bank as we continue to grow!

As you can plainly see, the last open mic was a full house from an audience perspective and there were a whole slew of performers (even though only a few are featured in our little video). We look forward to having you again this time!
