This even is coming up in partnership with Catulpa Community Support Services on September 9th! We hope you will join us for an evening of music.

Hosted by the Simcoe County FASD Prevention Committee, this free family-friendly event is an opportunity to bring our community together through song while learning more about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and how we all play a role in supporting healthy pregnancies, and supporting individuals, families and communities affected by FASD

Everyone is encouraged to wear something red in recognition of FASD Awareness Month.

No singing experience is needed - just come ready to have fun, meet new people and enjoy an uplifting evening that celebrates the strength of our community and the message that everyone plays a part.

Today, we remember a voice that became part of the soundtrack of so many lives. 🤍🎶

Dolly Parton gave us more than unforgettable songs. She gave us stories we could see ourselves in, music that brought people together, and a beautiful example of what it looks like to use your voice, your success and your platform with kindness.

For those of us who love to sing, her legacy feels especially meaningful. Songs have a remarkable way of outliving a moment. They are passed from one voice to another, one generation to the next, keeping the stories and the people behind them alive.

Thank you for the music, Dolly.

What would you say to someone who’s thinking about auditioning for Bravado?

And after being part of this group, what does Bravado actually mean to you?

Scott’s answers are a pretty good reminder that sometimes the hardest part is simply deciding to give it a try.

What if the thing you’ve been missing isn’t more time… it’s something that makes you feel like YOU again?

For Marty, that something was music. 🎶

Music had always been a big part of his life, but then adulthood did what adulthood does. Work, family, responsibilities, schedules… and somewhere along the way, singing took a back seat.

Until he decided to come back to it.

Marty joined Bravado! looking for a way to bring music back into his life.

What he found was so much more.

Music, yes. But also friendships. Community. A place to laugh, perform, challenge himself and be part of something. In Marty’s words, it reignited his spark.

And maybe you’ve been missing yours.

If you love to sing but haven’t done it in years, that’s okay.

If you’re nervous about auditioning, that’s okay too.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to walk through the door.

What if the only thing standing between you and something you’d love… is the fear of trying? 🎤💗

When Sheena Costello auditioned for Bravado, she was nervous.

Music and singing had always been a big part of her life, but putting herself back out there? Walking into an audition? Getting back on a stage after time away?

That took courage.

And Sheena has a beautiful way of looking at those nerves now: being nervous means you care. It means you’re stretching yourself. It means there’s an opportunity to grow on the other side of that uncomfortable feeling.

She took the chance.

And she’s so glad she did.

She found her way back to the stage, back to something she loved, and into a supportive community where she could sing, perform, grow and make new friends along the way.

So if you’ve been watching our audition posts thinking, “I’d love to do that, but…”

Maybe this is your sign to stop at “I’d love to do that.”

You don’t have to walk into an audition without nerves.
You just have to walk in.

What makes someone take that first step and audition for Bravado? 🎶

Meet Lori Webel-Edgar, one of our altos and a longtime member of Bravado.

In her own words, Lori shares what first inspired her to audition, why she decided to stay, the support she’s found from our directors, and what being part of this choir has meant to her over the years.

Because Bravado is about so much more than learning the notes.

It’s about growing as a vocalist and performer. Stepping onto stages you may never have imagined yourself on. Finding a welcoming, supportive community. Making lifelong friendships. And being part of something bigger than yourself.

And maybe this season, there’s a place here for you.

Auditions are now open, with current openings for Sopranos, Tenors and Basses. Our new season begins August 31, with weekly rehearsals on Mondays.

🎹 Please Join Us in Welcoming Our New Collaborative Pianist & Accompanist!

Bravado Show Choir is thrilled to welcome Alex Kazak as our new Collaborative Pianist & Accompanist for the upcoming season!

Alex is an accomplished pianist, composer, and arranger with more than 20 years of international performance experience. Originally from Minsk, Belarus and now based in Barrie, he has performed with world-class ensembles, served as a Music Director aboard international cruise ships, and founded Soundscape Events, bringing exceptional live music experiences to our community.

Beyond his impressive musical career, Alex is passionate about connecting people through music. He regularly hosts local Jazz Nights and Jam Sessions, fostering collaboration and celebrating the joy of live performance.

We are excited for our singers to learn, grow, and create music alongside Alex this season. His experience, creativity, and passion for excellence make him a wonderful addition to the Bravado family.
