🏆 MAIN EVENT SPOTLIGHT: Dogs With Jobs Cattle Dog Trial

Weekend 2 | July 24–26, 2026

This is the event at the heart of Dogs With Jobs—where ranch skills, incredible working dogs & outstanding teamwork take center stage!

Throughout the weekend, dog & handler teams will compete against the clock as they guide three head of cattle through a challenging obstacle course. Points are earned as the cattle successfully complete each obstacle, putting every team’s communication, precision, stockmanship & ability to work calmly under pressure to the test.

With six events held throughout the trial, scores will accumulate as competitors work toward being named the 2026 Dogs With Jobs Aggregate Champions! 🏆

Competitors will take to the arena across five divisions:

🐾 Nursery
🐾 Novice
🐾 Intermediate
🐾 Open
🐾 Junior/Youth

From promising young dogs & first-time competitors to experienced professional teams, the Dogs With Jobs Cattle Dog Trial celebrates every level of the working stock dog community.

This year’s trial is double sanctioned by the British Columbia Stock Dog Association & the Canadian Cattle Dog Association, giving competitors the opportunity to earn points toward both organizations’ standings & championships.

Come watch these incredible dogs do what they were bred to do & experience the instinct, intelligence, training & partnership behind real working stock dogs.

📅 July 24–26, 2026
🐂 Trial action runs all day Saturday & Sunday
🕗 Competition begins daily at 8:00 AM
📍 North Thompson Fall Fair & Rodeo Grounds | Barriere, BC
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Spectators welcome!

Real Skills. Real Dogs. Real Work.

🌟 EVENT SPOTLIGHT: Dogs With Jobs Showdown & Calcutta Auction

Sunday, July 26 | Starts at 9:00 AM

As the Dogs With Jobs weekend draws to a close, the excitement shifts into high gear with the Dogs With Jobs Showdown & Calcutta Auction.

This fan-favourite event features a unique head-to-head elimination tournament, where working dog teams compete one-on-one for a chance to advance through the bracket. Every run counts, and only one team will earn the title of 2026 Dogs With Jobs Showdown Champion.

Following Round 3, the action continues with the Calcutta Auction, where spectators can bid on the remaining teams. If the team you purchase goes on to win, you'll receive 50% of the auction proceeds, while the remaining 50% helps support the North Thompson Stock Dog Association and future working dog events.

Whether you're following the tournament bracket, cheering on your favourite team, or joining in the auction, the Showdown is a fun and exciting way to wrap up an incredible weekend celebrating working dogs.
