🚨 Junior High Finals entries open TOMORROW at 7:00 AM 🚨

Qualified contestants and families — please read through the post below carefully before entries open.

🚨 JUNIOR HIGH FINALS ENTRIES OPEN TOMORROW MORNING 🚨

The road to Rimbey officially begins in less than 12 hours.

Before entries open, please read the following carefully:

• ALL Finals information can be found on the AHSRA website:

• Rodeo entries will be completed through EQuest Events – 2026 JH Finals

• Entries open Monday, May 11 at 7:00 AM — NOT midnight like regular season rodeos. Please do not think something is wrong with the entry system if entries are not available overnight.

• ONLY enter if you have officially qualified in the Top 10 of your event(s).

• If you roll up into a qualifying position, Provincial Secretary Pam or Data Secretary Jamie will contact you directly and advise you to enter.

• If you qualified but are NOT planning to attend Finals, or will not be entering a specific event, please contact Pam or Jamie so we are not contacting you regarding entries or roll-ups.

• Stalls, camping, banquet tickets, and additional Finals options will be ordered and paid through the host committee Cognito Form, which will be posted in EQuest when entries open.

Behind every back number, every pair of starched jeans, every late-night drive and early morning alarm, there’s a rodeo mom.

She’s in the back for barrel racing,
eyes locked on the chutes for roughstock,
by the stripping chute for team roping,
baby powder in hand for breakaway and tie-down,
holding her breath through goat tying, poles, cutting, cowhorse, light rifle, trap, and every run in between.

She knows the sound of a good run, and the silence after a tough one.

She’s packed the trailers, filled the coolers,
found the missing glove, the lucky shirt,
and somehow always knows where the entry papers are.

She celebrates the wins,
but more importantly,
she’s there after the losses.

She teaches grit in the hard moments,
humility in the good ones, and reminds us that character matters more than buckles.

Rodeo moms are chauffeurs, cooks, photographers, vets, medics, grooms, secretaries, sponsors, and the biggest fans in the crowd — all at once.

They spend countless miles on the road,
weekends at arenas, and long nights getting ready to do it all again.

And through it all,
they build more than rodeo athletes.
They build good humans.

This Mother’s Day, the Alberta High School Rodeo Association celebrates the moms behind the scenes — the ones cheering from the stands, waiting at the gate, and standing beside us every step of the way.

Team Alberta is working toward the biggest stages of the season, and our athletes have been putting in the work all year to get there.

While these are the goals for many of our athletes, there’s still plenty of regular season rodeo left — and every run, every ride, and every effort counts.
