Every note played by Classic Lightfoot Live carries a piece of Canadian heritage. With deep ties to Gordon Lightfoot himself, this band is more than a tribute—it’s a continuation of a legacy.

Lead vocalist John Stinson is joined by a lineup of incredible Canadian talent:

🎸 Steve Eyers, Lightfoot’s nephew and bassist, grew up in Orillia and brings a personal connection to every performance.

🎛️ Bob Doidge, Lightfoot’s longtime record producer, serves as Music Director. He produced Gord’s final five albums at Grant Avenue Studio in Hamilton.

🎶 Eric Kidd, lead guitarist and Barrie local, studied under Lightfoot’s original guitarist Red Shea and channels the iconic sound that helped define Gord’s music.

Born and raised across Ontario, every band member brings authentic insight, skill, and heart to the stage—making Classic Lightfoot Live Canada’s most genuine tribute to a national icon.

Classic Lightfoot Live was founded in 2012 by lead vocalist, John Stinson, a long time Ontario musician. John has been entertaining audiences around Ontario for over 30 years. He has been widely praised for his uncanny sonic resemblance to Gord, and his attention to replicating Gord’s original studio recordings. John was mentored to play Gordon Lightfoot music by the legendary Lightfoot lead guitarist, Red Shea!
