Mother Nature’s Last Breath 🍂

We watch as Mother Nature burns. Her beauty, her strength, her very existence slowly disappearing before our eyes.

This painting is not simply about transformation. It is about loss. About witnessing the destruction of something that gives us life, yet too often we take for granted.

The real leaves embedded in the canvas are fragments of what we stand to lose. The colours and textures echo both the beauty of nature and the devastation of fire.

And perhaps the most painful part is that we are not just witnesses. We are part of the story.

How much must we lose before we begin to protect what remains?

There is something about wandering through the woods that brings clarity.

After the storm, so many large trees had fallen and broken. Yet in the most unexpected place, a small fragile branch was still standing.

A reminder that even the strongest can fall. Yet life still finds a way through.

Strength can be both fragile and resilient enough to weather the storm and remain standing once it has passed.

Still standing.
Still reaching.
Still turning toward the light.

Sometimes the path gives us exactly the reminder we need when we slow down enough to notice it.

Everything changes when it burns.

A landscape caught between destruction and survival — scorched earth, smoke-filled light, exposed roots, and the quiet suggestion that even after fire, something remains connected beneath the surface.

This piece became less about a forest fire and more about what happens when the natural world is pushed to its limit.

Still burning.
Still breathing.
Still holding on.

This October, I’m taking The Art of Becoming™ beyond the page.

Through the Path — From Page to Experience

An experiential workshop inspired by the reflections in The Voice Returns, bringing together nature, mindfulness, creativity and community — not to create perfect art, but to make space to reconnect, explore and move forward.

You don’t need to be an artist.
You don’t need to know what comes next.

You just need to be willing to begin.

Watching this again feels a little different now. 💛

What started as my own journey of finding my way back to creativity eventually became The Voice Returns — and now I’m so excited to see it taking another step forward.

I’m getting ready to bring the journal to life through The Art of Becoming workshop series — creating an opportunity to experience some of what’s on the pages together, in person.

It feels like such a natural next step, and I honestly can’t wait to see where it goes. 🌿🎨
