Betty's Sign Studio is proud to donate a sign to hang in the Athens and Area Heritage Museum. It features the 1936 Bickle Pumper which is the first firetruck purchased for the Township of Athens Fire Department. Interestingly, the firetruck was picked up in Brampton and driven home in March of 1936 by John Layng ( Councillor Layng's grandfather) and Clifford Hartley (Kevin's grandfather). Kevin is a third generation firefighter on Township of Athens Fire Department so it is an honor to have something in the museum that we have created. It was a pleasure to work with Elizabeth Earl on this project. Stop by the museum and check out the interesting displays!
