The Assiniboia & District Arts Council is an incorporated non-profit entity. It is an independent organization that belongs to a network of Arts Council organizations in Saskatchewan called OSAC(Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils) which provides information, resources and support. The Assiniboia & District Arts Council promotes the performing and visual arts to the community and surroundin

g area resulting in an education on the meaning of art as an integral part of life and increasing community involvement in the arts. The community has a cultural centre where the arts are nurtured and showcased. It provides youth with art and culture experiences to foster lifelong engagement in the arts. The Assiniboia & District Arts Council offers a non-threatening environment, fostered on open communication and cooperation, to provide diverse and high quality cultural programming for all ages of Assiniboia and surrounding communities.

You’ve heard of Christmas in July? Well it is alive and well here in Assiniboia! The Assiniboia & District Arts Council Mistletoe Art & Craft Sale is coming up Nov. 6-7, 2026 at the POW and our annual Mistletoe Raffle Basket is ready to go. This year’s theme is Self-Care and the basket is full of amazing self-care items and gift certificates worth over $1000. Tickets are 1 for $5 or 3 for $10 and are available at the Shurniak Art Gallery - SAG, from Arts Council Members, and will be available Mistletoe weekend. The draw will be made Nov. 7, 2026. Help support the Assiniboia & District Arts Council with their new fundraiser by purchasing a ticket to Tomatoes Tried to Kill Me But Banjos Saved My Life on Wed., Sept. 23 at 7:30pm at the Shurniak Art Gallery - SAG. Tickets are $25 ($30 at the door). All proceeds will benefit the Assiniboia Union Hospital Integrated Facility and the Shurniak Art Gallery. Tickets are available at the Shurniak Art Gallery, online at www.assiniboiaartscouncil.ca, or by contacting Marni (306.642.7711). Want to know more about the show? Looking for a great opportunity for your children this summer? The Assiniboia & District Arts Council is offering a week long Arts for All Summer Art Camp August 10-14. The cost is $50 for the whole week and will include drama, music and visual arts. Anyone ages 8-17 is welcome to register. Registration forms are available at the Shurniak Art Gallery - SAG or email [email protected]. Deadline to register is August 7.
