The Shurniak Art Gallery is once again hosting a Summer Art Camp for children 8+. Register for a session or the season, the option is yours.
Your children will be led by our summer student Sienna who is a 4th year visual art student at UVIC in Victoria BC.

We had the pleasure of having Dave Pelletier join us and give an artist talk about his exhibit Wòknaga: “He tells his own story”. We had a group of students join us from AES and everyone was fascinated by Dave’s artwork and the stories he shared about each one. Dave engaged the students by having them make their own artwork inspired by Turtle Island. If you haven’t seen Wòknaga yet, you still have time as it moves on to another Gallery on June 23rd. Thank you Dave and Karen for spending the day with us, and we look forward to having you back for a visit soon!

The Shurniak Art Gallery is pleased to have Dave Pelletier join us on June 11th at 3:00pm for a meet and greet. The exhibit Wóknaga "He Tells His Own Story", Pelletier creates vibrant paintings featuring bold colors, strong black outlines, and interconnected forms that tell stories rooted in Indigenous knowledge, culture and personal experience. His work explores identity, relationships, and the ongoing journey of reconnecting with Indigenous traditions and teachings. 🐢🌎🌞
