Today I have a headache. I just read prose that said I can "sharpen my empathy against the stone of my discomfort." (Jarod K Anderson). This is the most brilliant description I've heard about how I can use my pain.

It is not helping the pain leave, but maybe that is the point. When I'm in pain, physical, mental, spiritual, perhaps for me, digging into the pain will help me to feel for others who are in pain, when I am feeling on top of everything.
