Something seemed a little different about Pebbelina this morning.

Then I realized she had fully committed to her coffee habit.

Now, I understand loving coffee. Trust me.

But I’ve never put the entire container over my head to get the last few grounds.

Barney stopped by to assess the situation, the can was removed, and Pebbelina immediately returned to her wheelbarrow snack inspection as if nothing had happened.

Sometimes I pause and think about all the reasons people have found their way to our trails.

We’ve celebrated birthdays, wedding anniversaries, family reunions, and bachelorette adventures.

We’ve been part of a prom proposal, a marriage proposal, and a teacher get-together on a ProD day.

We’ve also walked alongside guests celebrating the last day of cancer treatment, grief and other milestones that carry a little more weight.

Every booking has a story.

The goats never know whether you’re here to celebrate, reconnect, heal, or simply breathe for a while.

They show up exactly the same way every time.

Curious.
Present.
Unbothered.

And somehow, that’s exactly what so many of us need.

Thank you for trusting the goats and me with your memories, your milestones, and your moments in between.

It is an honour I never take for granted. ❤️ And yes I have had tears with guests in the forest as well!

🐐🧦 This gentleman showed up wearing goat socks.

The goats noticed immediately.

Within minutes he had the herd’s attention, earned their respect, and somehow became the unofficial leader of the hike.

We’re not saying goat socks give you special powers…

…but we’re also not saying they don’t. 😉

The goats have spoken.

A few things to know before you hit the trail with us 🌲🐐

This isn’t a paved petting zoo stroll.
Our hikes take place on private forest trails with real terrain, curious goats, roots underfoot, and yes… mosquitoes who think they paid admission too.

The hike begins with a steeper climb (about 63 metres elevation) to help move the goats away from the herd and into hiking mode. Once we settle into the forest, the pace slows and the magic begins.

Things to expect:
🐐 Goats may tangle leashes
🌲 Uneven forest terrain
🪵 Roots, rocks & sticks underfoot
🦟 Mosquitoes (especially this season)
💪 A moderate level of mobility helps
📋 Waivers are required before hiking

The reward?
Fresh cedar air, forest quiet, goat personalities, and a reset you can actually feel.

The goats lead the way from there.

Not every goat at The Great Goat Escape is actually interested in being a hiking goat… and honestly, we don’t force it. 😅🐐

Some of our herd live for the trails.Some prefer cuddles and snacks.Some loudly quit hiking after one attempt.And some are tiny babies still deciding their future careers.

Every goat has their own personality — which is exactly what makes our hikes so special. 🌲

Our guided hikes usually include a minimum of 3 hiking goats, and we try to match the herd to the size and vibe of the group whenever possible. Some goats lead the trail, some walk beside the kids, and some stop the entire hike because someone is walking too fast. 😂

This isn’t a petting zoo.It’s a wandering forest adventure guided by goats with opinions.
