Only 2 weeks before Gin Behind the Couch and Stone Soup Story are on stage at Centennial Hall! Get your tickets before they're gone!

⭐⭐PLEASE NOTE: TIMES HAVE CHANGED AND THE SHOW WILL START AT 8:00PM NOT 7:30 ⭐⭐

Local musician and music teacher Deborah Gabinet takes to the stage with her moving one-woman show, 'THE GIN BEHIND THE COUCH'.

The performance pays tribute to her childhood mentor, Mable Brandon, who began teaching Deborah piano at age five and remained a guiding force during her growing years. Through Deborah’s expert piano playing, humour, and deeply personal storytelling, she invites the audience to go ‘behind the couch,’ sharing with them her personal experiences of the value of ‘having a mentor’.

For over four decades, Deborah has shared that same inspiration with her own piano, voice and choral students in Manitoba, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia. Her heartfelt tribute reminds us of the power of music and the teachers who light the way.

Reviewers praised the show as “a brilliant performance” and “beautifully done, with emotion, passion, and soul flowing throughout.”

The Gin Behind the Couch will be preceded by Beverley Peacock’s “Stone Soup Story”.. An original telling of the traditional story.

Since its first printing in the early 1700’s in France, Stone Soup has had many versions. This refreshing take on an ancient story brings joy and hope to our uncertain world.
