Theatre Ancaster Celebrating over 25 years of great community theatre in Ancaster! Theatre Ancaster is a community musical theatre company with a reputation for excellence.

Our mandate: To present excellent quality live musical theatre to the community; to assist in the development of musical theatre among the adults and youth of the community. Theatre Ancaster incorporated as a not for profit organization in 1997, and is also a registered charity.

We had 2 amazing shows from our Skill Builders this year! The Winter Olympics and Good Vibes Only: A Skill Builders Road Trip! 🇨🇦☮️ Skill Builders is growing this year with a Wednesday evening session added!

Skill Builders is a place for performers at all skill levels to join and develop who they are as an artist and person. Both of the shows in our 2025/2026 season were created to help each member of these casts to shine onstage. In the Fall session, the Skill Builders headed to the Winter Olympics. They conquered their fears during bobsledding, were snowed in and became Olympic journalists all through Canadian songs. In the Winter session, the Skill Builders hit the road in a VW bus to search for the best song to sing at battle of the bands. This show was literally Good Vibes Only ☮️ from the rehearsal process to the show itself. Thank you Skill Builders for a great year, so excited to see the program grow!

4 days until our season opens! Next up we look back at Alice in Wonderland, our Stage 2: Junior Broadway musical 2026. Looking even further back we head to 2015 when Junior Broadway first did this show! Fun fact, Abby who Stage Managed the show this year was a Cheshire Cat in 2015!🩷💜

This cast and team put this show together through weekly rehearsals from September to January. During this time they pulled off something spectacular. Cast members made friendships that will last a lifetime and created a show they were very proud of. We are forever grateful for our communities support in arts programming and the positive impact it can have on this age group. This show was full of whimsy from intricate costumes to giant wonderland flowers. Thank you Stage 2: Junior Broadway for a fabulous show!

We had another year full of ✨Jitterbug magic✨ for our 2025/2026 season with sessions running on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings!!

The Fall session performed their show 🍂Wander Through The Woods🍂 where they took one of their classes outdoors and sang to the forest! This show was full of whimsy and a celebration of the Fall season. For the Winter session, they performed 🍬Candyland!🍬 This show had a track list similar to our Oldies Jukebox Concert and took the Jitterbugs all around Candyland to find the gingerbread man! 🍭 thank you Jitterbugs for always reminding us about the magic of theatre 🌈💓

Happy Friday! 5 days until our 30th season opens and our countdown brings us into January 2026 with our Classics Company: Musical, My Fair Lady 🌸 Along with that we have our furthest throwback yet to My Fair Lady in 2006 produced by MainStage! Fun fact this was the first show our Director of Operations, Sam Frisk, worked on at Theatre Ancaster!

This year‘s concert style musical was filled with wit, charm and toetapping tunes! The costumes in this show were stunning, the performers were outstanding and the musicians brought the score to life! Director Krys Croxall said she was delighted to work with this talented cast and director Al Croxall said this one was particularly fun 🫶🏼 We cant wait to see what the Classics Company does this year with Fiddler On The Roof!

As we continue to look back our 2025/2026 season, what holidays would’ve been complete without a winter concert?! To close off 2025, our Chorus performed their concert Let It Snow ❄️

This show captured the beauty of snowfall and the warmth of the season through a musical journey. This show was brought to life by stunning choral harmonies and a live four piece band! This a concert was filled with nostalgia, joy and brought the holiday spirit to its audiences ✨

We interrupt your regularly scheduled program of sunshine to bring you back to much snowier days and our Benefit show! We are only 6 days away from our season launch so we are looking back to this seasons A Christmas Carol along with a throwback to A Christmas Carol 2022! 🎄This show had multiple of its cast members perform the show in 2022 come back for 2025!

The annual benefit for Ancaster Community Services dates to the early 2000s when we invited the community into the Old Town Hall and brought our performers, both young and old, to the stage where the audience put donations in a hat and enjoyed cookies and coffee with their evening’s seasonal entertainment. Since 2018, Al and his wife Krys have produced the benefit in the form of reproducing old time radio shows such as the Campbell Soup production of A Christinas Carol. These shows have benefited Ancaster Community Services with over $25,000.00 in donations. This show brought warmth to snowy days and helped us give thanks to the community that gives so much to us 💚❤️

1 week until the season opens and today is a double throwback to continue getting excited for 30th season!! Our MainStage series produced Spamalot this season and we are throwing it even further back to Spamalot 2016 with Stage 3: The Young Company! We have always been looking on the bright side of life but no one more than our Lancelot Zain who played the role in 2016 and reprised it in 2025!

This show had audiences laughing and leaving their worries behind through Monty Python humour. This cast was beyond talented and the production elements in this show were larger than life, for real take a look at these castles! Spamalot reminded us to look on the bright side of life and sometimes take a moment to laugh at ourselves. We still have the sounds of coconuts clopping in our heads and find ourselves whistling on the hard days 🥥🎶

As we head out of looking back at the Summer of shows and into Fall 2025, Va**na Monologues graced us with its presence in our MainStage series.

The dualities of girlhood are so special and this show put a spotlight on that. This play had audiences crying, laughing and saying “same here!!” feeling a sense of empowerment. Incredible women sat on this stage and shared the stories of so many. These pink chairs had a gravity within them that we were so lucky to witness. The cast supported and lifted up one another through this show and also always brought snacks to share backstage. Va**na Monologues was a huge hit and put womanhood in the spotlight, thank you Va**na Monologues 🩷

8 days until our 2026/2027 season opens! To continue our countdown we look to our Jitterbugs camp and Stage 2 Performance camp 2025

We had campers who have been coming back every summer since they began as a Jitterbug and tons of new campers come who fell in love with this camp! In just 2 short weeks they put on a show and did all of the things that make camp the best (we all know we mean water day and staff dunk 🌊) The Jitterknights united the kingdoms and made friends with a dragon while the Performance camp threw it way back in a Time Machine but still had time for a tik tok dance mashup. Our staff not only made lasting memories with each camper but also with one another, camp friendships last a life time. Our camps for summer 2026 begin at the end of this month and if it is anything like last summer we know it’s gonna be incredible. But our lips are sealed we will not reveal the theme! You will have to find out at camp eeeeek!

Continuing to look back at our Summer 2025 shows we are reminiscing about the Conservatory Company’s West Side Story 💃🏽

This show was a huge hit and had audiences walking away in awe. From breathtaking vocals to complex dance numbers this show was a spectacle. The production elements in this show were stunning and elevated this performance to another level. We can’t wait to see what the Conservatory Company does this year with A Chorus Line 🧑🏽‍🩰🧑🏾‍🐰‍🧑🏼
