Art by the River Love art? Join unique artists & artisans at Essex County’s original arts and crafts festival 10am-5 pm Aug 23 & 24th 2025

The first outdoor exhibition was held on the grounds of Fort Malden NHSC August 1967 as a Centennial event. It has become an end of summer tradition and is still held the end of August each summer. It has grown from 50 vendors to over 170 artists & artisans participating. Through the funds raised here, the Gallery is able to maintain and preserve its heritage building.

Art by the River is excited to say we are sold out of exhibitor spots! So many exciting new exhibitors and so many talented returning exhibitors, it's going to be a great event! Remember to avoid the parking hassle, we are offering a free SUV shuttle service from 179 Victoria St parking lot. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate child car seats. Access the list on our website

Art by the River is excited to announce that we have confirmed a shuttle car service again this year from the parking lot located at 179 Victoria St Amherstburg.
We thank the sponsorship of Amherstburg Chevrolet Buick GMC for this valuable service! Please utilize this service to save yourself the stress of trying to find a parking spot near Fort Malden Historic Site the weekend of Art by the River, it will drop you off at the Museum Gate.
