Sylke van Niekerk's exhibition "For God's Glory" on the second floor of the gallery.

For God's Glory is both offering and reflection: an attempt to make visible something of divine beauty, love, and grace through the language of paint.

May you enjoy the walk from God's majesty through the "tides" of human struggle, into vibrant renewal of spring, and finally into an eternal "afterglow".

This exhibition may be treated as a prayerwalk; each series of paintings is a movement, and each title card holds a Psalm and a prayer. Come and feel the contemplative beauty through van Niekerk's work.

This exhibit is on until July 30th!

Yesterday at our Spring opening gala, we unveiled our newest addition to the sculpture garden!

Immigrant by Galina Stetco.
Bronze and stainless steel.

From Oeno Gallery:
Stetco used her own body as a model for the mould of this compelling and poignant life-size sculpture. It depicts a female form, crouching, head bowed, and arms outstretched with open hands. The sculpture's exterior appears cracked and torn - the gaping wounds are intended to symbolize the heartwrenching trauma of uprooting and exile that immigrants can endure. A small, purple coloured rose at the heart of the woman signifies the beginning - a "blossoming" of new life.

This sculpture was donated by Linda and the late Ray Loewen. We are forever grateful for the generous and ongoing patronage.
