Made a little violet (Viola odorata) for my Provence wildflower collection. I am working from sketches, tracings, a pressed plant, and fresh violets from my yard. Here are some process pics and the whole collection so far. They are all from early spring. I'm hoping to make and mount 15 species. Any ideas on where to exhibit them?

Yesterday I sent out my newsletter. I email it out every three or four months, compiling all of the projects that I've been up to, and previewing what's new in my studio. It's a nice way to keep in touch. Let me know if you'd like to be added to my list!
PS I also have an email list for upcoming workshops.

Another gorgeous native plant blooming right now is Marsh Marigold (Caltha palustris). This water-loving plant is native to Europe too and this little paper version will form a part of my series of Provence wildflowers.

The trilliums are blooming in full force in our forest this week! What magnificent flowers they are. I've made them many times from paper and I'm sure I'll make them many more times too.

There's something magical about being compelled to create. These daffodils are blooming so beautifully in my garden that I felt I had to pay homage to them in some way. So I set aside my other projects for the weekend and dedicated myself to these beauties. I'm so glad that I did!
For my recent daffodil workshop I came up with a new method to make them, which involves shaping the corona (central tube part) first, adding the petals next, then making the pistils and stamen last. It works really well!
