Join Doug in the studio to level up those pottery skills!

In All Levels, beginners will learn the essential foundations to start their pottery journey with confidence, while more experienced students can build on their existing techniques and deepen their practice.

In Beyond Beginner, the emphasis will be placed on making bowls and cylinders of various shapes and sizes, lidded pots or 2-part pieces, AND having lots of fun while playing with the clay.

There are so many variables in creating pottery, but how much do you keep clay shrinkage in mind?

To the left is a glazed mug, to the right, a bisqueware mug. They were both the same size as bisqueware!

Shrinkage varies depending on clay type, firing temperature, additives, and the grace of the kiln gods.

If you ever think, "Maybe this is too big..." when you throw something, just remember, it is likely going to be smaller than you think!
