The 17th Annual Exhibition is now showing at The Gibson Centre. The "Meet the Artists" reception officially opened the show on September 14th with artists and "the public" both enjoying the displayed art and chatting.
I have posted the exhibit on our blog page at:

If you are in the vicinity of Alliston before September 19th, a visit to the Gibson Centre and experience the show in person would be a fun trip.

Preparations are underway for this year's 17th Annual Exhibition, "A Brush With Colour". Forms are filled, fees are paid and the poster is designed.
This is a great opportunity to get an idea of the artistic talent that lives hidden in our community. I always enjoy seeing this talent come to light as paint is splashed, releasing the hidden artist with a bit of fun along the way.
Alliston is a great destination for an excuse to get out and explore. The Gibson Cultural Centre is great to see on it's own but with an amazing Gallery Exhibition to experience, it provides a two-for-one opportunity to make the day out worth the while.
Meeting the artists during the reception on Sunday, September 17 is a fun way to see who is behind the brush. (There might even be peanut butter cookies on the desert table?!)
Once the exhibition is under way, I will post the art work on our blog page. For now, enjoy the poster.

From time to time, a "challenge" is put forth for any who wish to participate for the fun of painting a common theme to see
the variety of interpretations which result. The challenge that twenty-three artists took up this Fall is, "What does 'cabin in the woods' mean to you?".
Visit the blog page to see the variety of interpretations. The can of beans is what one might expect to eat in a cabin in the woods.

This year's annual Artists at the Gibson exhibition, Pigments of Our Imagination, is in full swing at the Gibson Centre. The Meet The Artists Reception last Sunday saw many friends, family and artists mingle, chat and view the forty-two paintings on display this year.

The Artists at the Gibson have been invited to display artwork on a rotational basis in the newly renovated New Tecumseth Town Hall. This is a great opportunity for our members to display their artwork to the community in this beautiful new venue. We appreciate the town's commitment to supporting local artists and the invitation to participate.

The Artists at the Gibson have a new logo!
The design elements reflect a basic paint brush stroke that resembles a tear drop, or a rain drop.
The following is a brief explanation of the logo elements:

It always excites me to see the calibre of talent demonstrated by our artists. Splashing paint on canvas with a personal touch reveals wonderful paintings. As it turns out, one of our artists not only knows how to splash paint on canvas, she also knows how to pour words on pages to reveal a wonderful book: The Case at High Lake.
And, what a fun read! Heather Hill Burford has written her first book as an extension of her lakeside adventures with her grandchildren, with a mystery! I read a chapter a night, as I would to my own grandchildren and enjoyed imagining, " What would happen next? " during the following day. Now, while awaiting her next mystery, I am wondering, "What will happen next?"
