It’s been a while! Summer has been crazy busy around here! My Vast series is up inside the new Inspire building (check it out if your local - lots of other great art hanging throughout the building)

Upcoming next weekend is Airdries first inaugural ArtWalk inside the Inspire building - this is coinciding with AirdrieFest. Myself and 30 other wonderful artists will have our booths set up throughout the building. It has been a pleasure being part of the ArtWalk committee and being a part of this event!

Giving focus to the layers of these collages with frames that lets the artwork speak for itself.

The floating frames finally arrived and I got them painted yesterday and mounted my last four pieces in my small series called Vast, an exploration of the vastness, spread and breath of the Alberta prairies. I’m really pleased with how these all came together. I’ll be adding these to the album labelled Vast if you’d like to see the whole series.

‘Petals In Relief’

20”x20” mixed media collage on gallery depth canvas.

I spent a lot of time layering hand-painted and textured paper to get that specific movement and delicate texture in the poppy petals. It feels so good to see it all come together on the canvas.
