The Fixes' Not So Spooky Haunted House

As many of you know, Fixes Not-So-Spooky Haunted House evolved into Quest World — a bigger vision built from the same creative heart.

That season, however, was shorter than we had hoped, and Quest World has since closed indefinitely.

Still… what a journey it was.

From cautious giggles in decorated hallways to brave little explorers stepping through themed adventures, this community showed up with such warmth and support. We had the privilege of working alongside incredible young people who poured their creativity and energy into bringing it all to life.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who walked through our doors, volunteered, supported us, or cheered us on from afar.

Some chapters are shorter than expected — but that doesn’t make them any less meaningful.

Thank you for being part of ours.

🎃👻 The last time I popped in here was Halfway to Halloween—and wow, have we been BUSY since then!
✨ Big news: we have a home!
📍 Unit 4 - 2010 30 Ave NE, Calgary T2E 7K9
Here’s what we’ve been up to (besides running on caffeine and pure spooky spirit):
• 🧽 Cleaning. So. Much. Cleaning. (Gotta hit that Quest World sparkle standard!)
• 📝 Tackling permits like it’s a side quest.
• 🎨 Painting nearly 1,500 sq. ft.—our arms (and legs from all the stepladders!) may never forgive us.
• 🎃 Lugging in ALL the Halloween props (and yes, Christmas too—it’s never too early!)
• 🔨 Designing sets & dreaming up some delightfully clever props.
• 🎥 Producing a video just for your entertainment—keep your eyes peeled!
• 👥 Hiring an amazing crew.
• 🍬🥤 Finding some sweet treats and cool drinks to fuel the fun.
• 🛡️ Crafting safety plans to keep both staff and visitors happy & secure.
And now… drumroll, please… 🥁

HALFWAY to HALLOWEEN!!

It’s hard to believe that it’s already a few days past “Halfway to Halloween”, that amazing time of year when those who love all things Halloween celebrate the 6-month mark for anticipation. For some, “Halfway to Halloween” is a time to start planning and is a calendar reminder of everything that needs to be done before the BIG DAY. For us, this year is the marker of having been busy for 2 months already and 5 months from the beginning of something NEW, EXCITING, and even BIGGER than before.

We’ve already been busy with this year’s Not-So-Spooky Haunted House plans and creative props for two months and have kept the theme under wraps long enough. We will take you on a Not-So-Spooky trip to Egypt with a festive Halloween Holiday flair! But, it’s even BIGGER than that!!

Perhaps the BIGGEST NEWS is that because of the enormous growth we’ve seen year on year and the risks and responsibilities associated, which we take very seriously, we’ve decided to go from a backyard haunt to a commercial venue. We will be open even more days, have MORE space and props, and can host more of you without the weather dampening or freezing out the fun!

Part of what helped us to decide this was attending the February 2025 TransWorld Halloween, Christmas, and Escape Room trade show and seminars in St. Louis, Missouri. It brought to light what we can and should do to ensure those who love our Not-So-Spooky Haunted House at Halloween and Christmas Eye Spy Adventure are safe and enjoy our events even more. We were already leaning into improving our events, especially regarding weather and safety. Still, between the two dozen workshops we attended, discovering new friends, and finding mentors in an industry that supports each other and has fun, we knew we had something special that we could grow with staff and space to be EVEN BETTER!

Drum roll, please. I am pleased to present QUEST WORLD FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT!

At Quest World, you can expect all the same goodness – no jump scares, but a little creepy fun at Halloween, Christmas Magic without cold weather dampening the fun, same crazy big hearts and growth into something NEW! No, it’s not Easter. You’ll have to stay tuned for the formal unveiling. LOL.

Right now, we are busy setting up policies & procedures, building relationships with vendors, and creating some smaller props for Halloween. We’re excited to bring others on board to help us make our events even more accessible and create even more memories with you. Of course, we are actively looking for an appropriate commercial space to call home for this crazy, fun adventure. I’m holding space for the right place as we begin our search next week. I can’t wait to find it and build Quest World to share the family fun with you!!
